Good Morning. No B-complex flush but lots of tingles

Yay!!! I took my B-complex with 2 capsules of calcium this morning and didn't get that awful flush I usually do. I did get a lot of tingles on my arms and hands, so I know it got into my system.

Wouldn't it be cool to have other obvious indicators that things are absorbing? What if vitamins D and A, and calcium and iron gave us immediate indicators that they had been absorbed.  Then, we with WLS, could tell our docs for sure if what they were telling us to take was actually absorbing. I think a lot of docs would be surprised at how much we have to take to absorb.

Lots to do this morning. I also want to get a Vitalady order put together this weekend. If anyone in NOVA wants to go in with me to avoid shipping costs, let me know what you want to order today.

Have a good one, y'all!

Hi Gina,
Yes, that would be cool.  I can definitely feel my iron - if, for some reason, I forget to take it, I know it pretty quickly.
Today's gorgeous, and I'm thinking about a drive to CT to see some family.  I hate having to wait until a decent hour to call to see if they'll be around.  ... Oh wait!  They're family!  I don't have to wait much more.  ;)

Have a great day!

Good morning LW'S!
I agree with you Gina, it would be nice to have immediate indicators of our vitamin and mineral absorption. I always think that the vits are working when I see my pee turn that funny bright yellow green color after the multi I take.
Going to be a busy day here. Having a reunion from the grocery store I used to work at for about 9 years when I was in high school and college and then its off to a family wedding.
Why do things always seem to happen together.
Have to remember to put my vits in my purse.
Have a good day all.

Interesting about the tingle.  Years ago, long before wls, I had tingling in arms, face, etc.  After many test for such things as brain problems, MS, etc, it was decided I had a B-12 deficiency.  I have been on injections for years and is under control, but if I skip my injections, the tingling begins.

You say if you miss your injections the tingles come back.  Do you know your B12 level?  Just missing a few injections, shouldnt' cause symptoms unless your level is still too low.  I give myself injections and I miss them periodically and never had a symptom - been taking the injections for 15 years.

The range for normal, nonWLS patients is 200-900, but we want our levels to be between 1200-1800 and can go as high as 2000.  So unless your level is atleast 1200, then you aren't injecting often enough.  How often do you inject?  I tend to think that if you still feel the tingling sometimes that you aren't injecting often enough.  It can't hurt to do it more often but not enough can cause nerve damage, hense the tingling.

Thanks for reply and advise.  Sorry to be slow replying.  Life gets in the way.

My B-12 is 995.  I inject ever two weeks.  I have not had a tingling spell in a long time.  I do the injections pretty faithfully now.  I never feel the high a lot of people have.

Just got my labs back and my Dr says to increase my iron.  ugh.  I do Tender-Iron, but have to admit, I sometimes fail to get it in.  I try to take it in the middle when get up for potty.  I will be more faithful.  I do not need this problem.
