Feeling out of sorts

Good morning!
The past few days, I cant put my finger on it.
I dont know if it is because I am having some big issues with my 14 yr old and fighting with my hubby has me out of wack, OR
Is it because my favorite drug of choice FOOD is no longer an option? Or both?
Just feeling overwhelmed and short tempered. There are just things now I just dont want to put up with. I have never really been this way. Feeling a lot of anger.
I think I will be calling psych this week for an appt.
Has anyone else experienced feeling like this after surgery?
Thanks!
Maria

You're also dumping hormones along with the fat. Best to warn others you are not your normal patient, selfless and humble self. Just a warning to them and let them figure out if they want to deal with it when they do stupid stuff.

((hugs))

Gina, that's really interesting about the hormone dumping. I've been a bit "bi***y" myself over the last few months. Now I have an excuse! :)

Hi Maria,

Sending hugs your way.  I am feeling a little of the same things as you.  Last night I realized I was feeling irritable.   When my son (36) was home this summer, I told him about the hormone thang and he was really understanding if I suddenly became another creature than his loving mama.  We'd just talk about it.  He said he always knew if I was acting out of the ordinary that something else was going on under the surface. I had one particular incident in France when I was just so angry that I couldn't get what I wanted, when I wanted it. Of course I blamed the waitress!  ( I had let myself get way too hungry after walking 10 miles that day and waiting until 10pm to eat)  From then on, for the next two weeks in France, anytime I felt the slightest irritation, I'd just say...   It's all that B**TC*** FAULT. I It's now become a family joke that will live on.  We'd laugh and move on quickly.  I generally live alone so I just torment myself!  :)

As the old saying goes.... "this too shall pass".  Hang in there.

Thanks guys!
I guess I forgot about the hormone issues. All these changes happen so quickly.
Glad to know I am not alone.
Big Huggs to all of you!

Hope things settle down for you soon :) Hormones can really make us feel like we are going crazy...when I am in the middle of a hormone rollercoaster week, I forget what my "normal" self feels like. Then when things balance out, I am so happy to feel good again but know the cycle will start again next month :(

I am praying that when I get to a normal BMI that my hormones will naturally balance out. Try some relaxation exercises...that works the best for me. Or locking myself in my bedroom for some peace and quiet! :)

I think the rapid weight loss has made me irritable at times, just like when a person gets hungry.  Maybe you are experiencing something like this.  I used food before for comfort also but it's weird I am so much happier now I don't seem to have those issues as often.  Of course, I don't have a 14 year old at home anymore, LOL!  Hope you are feeling better!

I can so relate to you! I am definately out of sorts too. Not sleeping well. Very short tempered. I think it is a combination of both... we can not hide our feelings in food and we will not tolerate stupidity anymore. It does get better. Those that love you will learn how to deal with it. I promise. It does get better.
Nothing tastes as good as this feels!
