Isn't life a real PITA?? lol
Ok so we spend so much time (for me it's been all of my life) trying to get the weight off. Now the Dr is not happy and says that I have lost too much weight and I need to go on Creon to GAIN weight . Has this happened to anyone? I am happy with my weight, I would like to work on rebuilding some lost muscle but other than that I really don't want to gain any weight. Plus now I have osteoperosis issues, I am asking again for advice from anyone who can help. Have you ever taken this enzyme? Were there side effects? What type? I'm frustrated and alittle scared, please help.
Hugs, Tiffany

How tall are you? How much do you weigh? You're at a 21 BMI? Well, so am I - and that's right smack in the middle of the "normal" BMI range.....
It would scare the hell out of me to now have to take something to GAIN weight. I'd fight it like there's no tomorrow. Especially if you're happy where you're at.
I also lost a lot of muscle mass and my weight has redistributed - so I don't look gaunt anymore. Perhaps that's all it will take. And exercise to build the muscles back up.

OK - i have osteoporosis issues too . I LOVE fossamax or spiriva in large doses ( 70 mg ) - once a week - . The trick is you take it for one to two years no more ....because it can weaken the bones taken longer . yoga stretching really helps actually straighten Ur shoulders out .
My girfriend who was losing her teeth die to OP is now as stick straight and GORGEOUS after two years of Spiriva .
Of course U have to take calcium citrate / magnesium . vitamin D every day ( the calcium 3 x a day at maximal dosage ) for it to actually WORK.
U have to go into the sun for Vitamin Dt o actually be effective I believe - in any case its a lot MORE effective with half an hour strong sunlight a day on your arms legs etc.

Creon can help you absorb vitamins better too. How were your last labs? Is he also looking at those when he wanted you to add Creon? If your labs are good and you're stable, I wouldn't do the Creon either. If he's thinking you will absorb calcium better to help with your osteoporosis with the Creon, let's talk about alternatives...
600mg doses of elemental calcium citrate 3 to 4 times a day. With each dose of calcium, take a magnesium citrate (140mg) and a magnesium oxide capsule (250mg), if you need it for constipation, and 1 tablet of boron (3mg). Also take a minimum of 20,000IUs of dry D3 a day...spread out in 3 or 4 doses. Add dry K2 -- maybe 100 to 200mcg a day. If they decide they need to treat you with Fosamax for osteoporosis, your D needs to be way up close to 100 on your labs because Fosamax will make vitamin D dip in your system.
Good bless Dr Greenbaum, but he isn't an aggressive vitamin doc. If he's worried about your labs, you can try to fix those without the Creon. Get copies of all your labs and let's see what he's looking at and see what you might want to try before adding the Creon.
