You ladies are the absolute best! Thank you all so much. I am going to give some thought to the hypnotist and patches. Really I think I just need to muscle through it because with me the harder I work, the more I appreciate it. (I'm pretty stubborn). Anyway, off to bed for me, class in the morning then menus and miles to keep myself accountable with the food choices while I try quitting again.
Shannon,
{{{Hugs}}}} from me, no lectures. I used to lecture my DH and am ashamed of all the times I did that because it was before I struggled with a weight addiction. DH quit for 8 years once after hypnosis... and that was a record for him. He says he has never totally lost the desire to smoke though after 2 heart surgeries, he is down to less than 10 a week.
So, swinging lizards and sending up prayers. You have a LOT on your plate with school, kids, etc. and I commend you for all you have accomplished. You are a survivor, babee.
Blessings,
Kat70

Shannon... I quit smoking 26 years ago and not until I had this surgery and lost the weight did I start to think about smoking again!!!!. so go figure...yes we are all vulnerable to addiction...I don't drink but have started thinking that a glass of wine might be nice at night...I just want to get a bit buzzed on something and if it can't be sugar...then alcohol...nicotine...MMMMMMHHHH....this is not going to EVER go away...best of luck with the smoking...we are all in the same boat...SEAVIEW
Oh Babygirl, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I wish i could just wrap you in goodness and hold you there until all the urges passed. I started smoking when I was around 18. While pregnant I went down to 2 a day, then afterwards went back to a pack a day. In June 1990 I went to a hypnotist because I couldn't quit on my own. I haven't had a cigarette since that day 20 years ago. The only thing about being hynotized is that you really really really want to quit. It sure sounds like you do.
Take good care of yourself and be honest about your struggle. Things are always better in the light then when we try to keep them secret. We're all here to support you and everyone else trying to quit.
