 I can really relate  Hun.

one of the reasons i didnt tell my Parents i was having the surgery was because the last time I went into the hospital  for  a surgery they " didnt approve of "  they didnt even bother visiting me once though we were in the same ( foreign ) city - nor did they pick me up from the hospital or help me recuperate at home ....

It really hurt my feelings particularly when ,me roommate received so many visits, phone calls etc from her relatives .....  I realized then that I could not count on my parents for ANYTHING  ..and that our relationship was strictly a one-way street .

Im sorrry this is happening with U ...please make sure you have someone to help U the first few days at home ..... I DID  need some help and im a pretty strong person....

Good luck on your surgery.

I'm so sorry your family is not supportive.  Do you have someone to help you out after your surgery?

Hope you have a speedy recovery.  Be sure to keep us posted.

Hey everyone...thank you so much for your kind words

I do have my husband and he has been very supportive and amazing....even though during my self-inflicated liquid diet he kept trying to feed me....he did it out of kindness though...he really takes good care of me

You can do this...with or without family!!  Trust me, when they see how well you are doing and how healthy you are getting, they will be your biggest cheerleaders!  Best wishes for a smooth surgery and fast recovery!!

Stay strong - you won't regret it!  I'm sure they will all come around once they see how successful you've been!
