10 mths out -what can i expect from this point on

In a few days I will be 10 mths post-op.  From Sept 1 - Sept 18, the scale has not moved at all.  Not even in ounces.  142.0 -solid.  Am I done losing or can I expect to lose a little bit more but more slowly?  I'd like to lose another 10 lbs to put me smack in the middle of my "healthy weight zone" - do you think this is realistic?  My surgeon's goal was 165 and that was based off of a percentage.

On another thought, for those of you in maintenance....what is your daily caloric intake to maintain your weight?

Any thoughts will be appreciated.  TiA!

The last 10 lbs are typically the hardest to lose.  I stopped right at my goal, but my surgeons goal was 10 lbs lighter than that....  I did lose 3 lbs a few months after and another 1 or so a month later.

I do think midde of the "normal" bmi zone is very realistic.

I don't know what my caloric intake is - I don't track typically, and when I do I usually leave something off.  Dailyplate said I needed 1400 calories a day to maintain.

Regain 30 lbs from 2012 to 2016 - got back on track and lost it.  Took 8 months.

Kelli,

I am in the same boat... almost 11 months out.  I've been up & down within the same 3 lbs for a few months now.  I am trying to stay under 1300 cals a day.  I think I will accept that this might be where my body is stopping, and I am okay with that...as long as I don't gain!  I will print out my fitday.com pages and bring with me when I see the Nut next month for my 1 yr appt and see what she says then.  I am not exercising as much as I could but I am very active and taking karate a couple times a week.  That's realistic for me & my life, so I am ok with that.

I am interested to see what others tell you too!  Best wishes! ~ Mara

I am 9 months post op and have wondered the 'what's next' step too.

I am at the point where I would like to lose the last 10 lbs and maintain there. The lowest I reached was 132 but quickly bounced up after the gyn surgery so I am thinking the 132 was a temp weight with possible dehydration, on liquids only and the cleansing process. I think my true weight right now (I weighed this morning) is 135.2. So I would like to be around 125 and stay there or not to exceed 130.

I think you are very realistic in your goal. I am not sure on the maintenance question but look forward to the responses.

Thanks for posting the question :)

I hit my goal at 10 months out of 153 lbs, 23.7 bmi.  At that point I decided that I'd like to go down to 145 to have a little bounce back and maybe remove the amount around my tummy (but it'll probably come off the bewbies, lol).  Anyway, I hit my goal around the middle of July right at the beginning of my vacation and really have slacked off ever since both in tracking my food (snacking) and exercising.  I was down to 151.2 this week but was at 154.8 today, so to average it out, I may be around 152 which is a 1 lb loss in the last two months.  Basically, without effort I have maintained and lost 1 lbs since 10 months out (I am at 1 year out now).  I think that with a little effort, I could and will lose that last 8-10 lbs.  I hope in my rambling I have answered your question :)

Yeah im two months ahead of U ( not that thats MUCH more experience LOL )  .... and i echo the experience of the previous poster .

I kinda fluctuate between ...its IMPOSSIBLE to lose any more except by extraordinary means .....

and maybe its POSSIBLE to lose very slowly rationally .

I think at this point its either clean up Ur food act  or give up losing more ... I have been going to OA meetings to deal with the last of my compulsive overeating habits .... thats helped a lot  even in a short time.

Im now finding myself willing - even EAGER to make the lifestyle changes that will bring more fulfillment and less stress and self- abegnation ....long term .. which will PROBABLY lead to more Ava - friendly eating habits as well.

U know , i find all this recovery to be kind of like peeling an onion....U ratchet down the overeating  step by step but it never really COMPLETELY goes away until U are HAPPY .
