Job Interview -- Opinions

I have been talking to a headhunter about a possible new role.  I hadn't heard from her in a few weeks so I had decided that I wasn't what they were looking for and moved on.

Yesterday, I get a call and email that they want to speak with me "early next week".  It is another phone interview, but and interview nonetheless.  I'm pretty excited about the opportunity.  Here's the kicker...my surgery is Monday morning.  I know I won't be coherent to talk on Monday.

When should I tell her I'm available to talk?  My doctor says I'll be released from the hospital on Wednesday, but I don't want to be  "unfiltered" and say something wrong because of pain medicine either.  I'm just not sure what to expect with my recovery.

I'd see if they can wait until Thursday, or late Wednesday.  I don't think pain meds will make you incoherent, but you also don't want to be trying to have an intervew from a hospital bed with the nurses coming in when they want too.

Or - see if your Dr will release you on Tuesday (if al is well) so you're home on Wednesday.

Tough situation to be in....  Good luck!

I would ask them to wait.  There is no way I could have made sense to anyone the day of surgery or really the next one.  By the 3rdf or 4th day, you should be fine.

Wow - that's a good one!  I would've ruined an interview if I'd had one the first few days after the surgery - I was totally out of it for about 3-4 days.

I was much better to function by the following week.  Any chance of that?

Good luck!
