I'm new to the forum. I found out that my insurance request was sent in 9/15/10 for VSG. Now I wait. I spent the summer going through hoops, so it is tough having no control any more.

I have enjoyed reading your posts for a few days now. Thanks for inspiration.

Welcome! Yea, giving up control on something is tough!

BUT - if it comes back denied - fight it! We have several people on here that were successful with appeals.

But - we're going to keep positive thoughts coming your way that its approved the first time through! Let us know how it goes.

I read your blog. I am not computer savvy. Don't know how to add a photo to my profile. Glad to hear your cancer surgery went well. I started WLS process in 2006 and was diagnosed with uterine cancer, so I spent the time getting well. Then over a year ago I developed type2 diabetes. I'm still on metformin, but know the future can get worse. That is the reason my doctor recommends WLS.

I hope that you see this, since you posted a few days ago. I assume you are doing well from the cancer or you wouldn't be up for surgery now. I will be starting reconstruction surgery next month. My PS says it will be a process of 6 - 8 months. I had diabetes for 12 years before surgery. It is amazing how fast the surgery solved that issue. I'm looking forward to that taking care of yours as well. I had a hard time with the picture also. It kept telling me that my picture was too big. I had to shrink my picture for the avitar. A friend told me to go to shrinkpicture.com and shrink my picture. It's nice to meet you!

Yes, I'm doing fine. Had a full hysterectomy with no complications. Didn't need chemo or radiation. The surgeon knows all about my prior surgeries and seems fine with taking me on. I got a picture shrunk, but somehow messed up my iPhoto to get it. When I try new things, I usually create a new problem. I am happy to meet you and find this forum. Lee recommended it and she is so right about the support and good feeling.
