Hi everyone.....
Well last Friday as it had been threatening I lost my job....I have a few irons in the fire so getting a job is not my main concern.... I have a lot of things I need to do and as I am in the midst of my disease....I will fess up and make today a new day....I believe my health insurance will end as of this week(afraid to call and confirm) I NEED to call doc and have him call in order for labs....I know he will confer over the phone the results and not make me go in to discuss..Just need an order for them and need to go and get them drawn. I am not taking my meds or vitamins which for me is a recipe for disaster...the main med I take is an antidepressant...I have been spending my days on the computer job searching and surfing....and watching TV ( I am very good at being a couch potato)
I am fessing up with the intention of understanding that until look at my behavior honestly and take responsibility for it I will not gain the willingness to change it. I have gained a few pounds but that is not the major issue for me....it is only a symptom of the fact that I have been unwilling to work my program....
Thanks all for listening.......and Gina....I will go take my vitamins RIGHT NOW :)

Okay, well, you are where you are and you have to take the cir****tances, whether made by yourself or not (you have some of both) and decide where to go from here. So let's make a plan.....

1. Take your vitamins and meds(you already did this right?) but you are going to continue them knowing this isn't optional if you want to live.
2. Go get your labs drawn ASAP so your insurance will cover so you can see where you need to go vitaminwise.
3. Keep job searching. Don't give up.
4. Look into COBRA or other insurance options.
5. Start posting on OH and letting everyone support you to get back on track. Make it a goal to post on Bites and Vites to hold yourself accountable. (edited to add....do you guys have this on RNY board?)
6. Don't give up, no matter what :o) Don't dwell on the things you cannot change, but do something about the things you can!

3) Job search is not an option LOL...many irons in the fire
4)Hopefully I will not need COBRA but will look into prices just in case
5) This is my start...I am only only on this board and need to become willing to post food...argh
6)Will NOT give up.....not an option....getting on here is my first step to changing what I can!

This is my advice Hun... schedule a "last " doc appointment with all Ur providers and ask for a years worth of prescriptions .  Ud be surprised ...  some of them will give it to U .. others in my experience might give U six months worth , but hey wont leave U high and dry while U figure out insurance .

A few months from now U can  negotiate reduced out of pocket rates with Ur docs to see them when U must .... but dont broach the subject now .  Hopefully Ull find a job with insurance coverage long before then.

Looking fora new job can be seen as depressing and stressful - or U can see it as an exciting new opportunity .  U can even try a temporary job in a new field under the table while U collect unemployment .... or go to school ... there are LOTS of options .

big hugs   Ava

Thanks.....I can get scripts the but insurance will only pay for a month at time..and I am getting them refilled today..by the time I need more I WILL have insurance or at least COBRA if nec.
I do see looking for a new job as an opportunity and being an RN leaves me with many options...I am planning on doing home care private duty as a stop gap until I make my final decision..traveling is also an option...just have to decide with DBF is 3 months away is tolerable for both of us... I did file for unemployment...CANNOT survive on that alone for sure.....
Thanks for the support!!!

Maybe look at this as a positive if possible...you will have a little extra time to concentrate on your vitamins, foods, and exercise.  I was so grateful these first few months that I don't work, because it would have been very difficult to eat on a good schedule or work out as much as I have if I was working.

Hi Glenda!  I've missed you!

Sorry to hear about the job, but yes, you did say it was probably going to happen.  I'm glad to see you have a very upbeat and positive attitude about the job hunt and getting back on track.  I do hope it all works out for you.

Please stick around - its great seeing you again!
