I agree with you Mac...as older women we are always told that it is impossible to lose weight and that our "metabolism" has changed...etc...so when we do people get freaked out...it's a very interesting topic though...SEAVIEW

Babeeeee, I'm originally from Brazil, and lived there til my mid 20's. As you probably know, Brazilian culture is obsessed with beauty and fitness. I grew up hearing from friends, family and even mere strangers daily comments like: "you are too heavy, why don't you go on a diet?" or the more polite one: "you have such a pretty face, if you just could lose the weight, you'd look great!". These are the nice and polite comments, I'm sparing you from the more rude ones.

On the same coin, over there people seem to notice every morsel of pound you lose, and they also make sure to cheer on that (which is helpful when you are on a diet).

It was much less emotionally charge being obese in the U.S. than in Brazil.

On the other hand, I agree that there will never be too rich, but there is too thin. I would hate to look like the shapeless stick models on my magazines.
