I met a woman last week who had the RNY two years ago. Her surgery weight was 450 lbs and now she weighs 180. She completely changed her life.

She made a list of all the things she wanted to do in the next year two years and she was able to check everything off. (She's an engineer) LOL!

What I could really appreciate is that one of her goals was to walk every 5K that came close to her. She has walked about 20 5Ks. A win-win situation. She benefits and the charities she walks for benefit as well.

It was just amazing to see the changes she was able to make in her life.

Thanks for sharing that great story Kimberly.  That list does sound like a good idea, I think we all need goals to strive for.

What an inspiration!!!  Thanks for this story -- I needed to read about this today.  The "list" is kind of like the "ANTI-bucket list".  =)

Great story!
I also had a similar experience when I heard Bo McCoy  (from OH) speak. He said when you accomplish your goals take a picture. Dont buy something, it can be taken away or lost. When he hit his goal he went scuba diving, and what a great pic someone took of him under the water in his gear. It was so motivating to me.
So I need to get a list going and get a camera. I hate having my pic taken, but here's to a new me!

Great idea.  I need to start a list.  I certainly have a lot I am planning on getting fit enough to do.

Yep, she had 2 thick binders full of all the activities she had accomplished in the last two years.

She had came a long way!!

I'm going to steal her goal of walking 5 k's once the surgery is over.
