Howdy peeps!!! How are ya'll doing this fine lovely Tuesday morning??

Me?? I am doing great sitting on the front porch of my house sipping my coffee and doing a little posting here and there. After this I will be walking the dog for a bit. Getting my steps in for the day.

What are your plans? What have you already done today?

My surgeon is on Facebook and he posted a question about 20 min ago that asks...
"What is the biggest change in your life right now?"

I present this question to you. Big changes happen no matter where you are in the WLS journey. I can't wait to hear your responses.

Here's mine what I posted back...

The choices I make for my longterm success. Choices preop are certainly different than the choices I make now post op. So in a sense, "freedom" from the shackles of obesity is the biggest change in my life right now. Thank YOU Dr. Sasse for your talent, passion, and dedication and helping me last December to remove those shackles. You and your office are GREAT!!

Have a freakin' fantabulously awesome Tuesday!!! Rock it LW's...

ETA: 1.50 miles walk @ 2.2 mph = 122 calories gone. Not the fastest walk but hey, I got out and walked. Feeling overall better each day. I see everyone "joggin/runnin" around me in the neighborhood and I keep chuckling thinking...they are mocking me....lol

Hi Diana!  Either Zumba tonight or a line dancing class - haven't decided yet.

Hmmm - good question.  Biggest change huh?  Well, I feel much better!  I feel healthier.  I like I can do normal activities without thinking I'm going to die.  Of course wearing size 4 doesn't hurt either, and actually LIKING how I look now!!

Your reference to long term success is definitely a big change - for all of us.  Our tool helped us get the weight off, but its up to us, with making the right changes in our lives, to keep it off.

Edited:  Well - I didn't do either.  Went and had some bonding moments eating out with my son. (Its only bonding if I pay - lol).  Then we went to Walmart.  I bought myself a new pair of shoes that are like Shape Ups except they're Danskins.  $25.00 - so I had to go try them out - love'em!  Were very comfy and I could feel it in my legs - WOOHOO!!  I could see how it corrected my stride... very good for me since I seem to have hips that like to get out of place and my feet tend to splay out - like I'm a duck (my right foot primarily).

Not for running though....

I'm guessing it was a 2 mile walk tonight - at a good clip.  Was quite chilly when I got back in.

Tomorrow its supposed to rain, but if all works out well I may go do some line dancing lessons.

hi diana,

i'm recently getting into regular exercise and i appreciate these threads! i'll be at spin class tonight and depending on my energy level when its over, i may do some weights.

as for the biggest change in my life right now, i think its been a gradual process of learning to love and value myself.

Hi Chris...

How was the class? Did you do weights?

I like all kinds of cardio classes. I really like zumba and anything that has a routine/beat to it. I tried a spin class and made it through...lol wasn't pretty but did just fine...

I love your response..."learning to love and value myself".

I'm not there all the way. Some days I look at my body and say holy crap am I skinny now...and other days I still see fat where fat is and think I am a thinner fat me if that makes any sense at all...
We gotta love and value ourselves is right!!

Hi Everyone!

I went for a longer run than ever today!  My weekend anti-exercise funk (see previous post) is apparently over, TG.

I think that the ability to emerge out of the vortex of bad habits is a huge change for me.  I hope it lasts!

Great job on the long run!! Have you signed up for any fall races?

Great response to the question too...that's a huge element in our journey isn't it.

Ahhh!  Scary thought!  :)

I think my goal is ballet related - getting back en pointe by January is the goal.  My training will revolve around that, probably.  But I'll think about a race, maybe after meeting the January goal?

Nice suggestion!
