Had a few problems while in the hospital such as my heart rate would bottom out to around 30. I have really bad veins and they couldnt get my ivs too last long. The three hour drive home was horrendus, pain meds and anit-nausea meds wore offabout half way home. I am sleeping, sipping and walking. I am off all my diabetic meds, cholesteral and high bp meds.
I am hopeing each day will get better.

Congratulations!!  Making it through the surgery/hospital stay is a big first step!  I felt horrible for about 7-11 days.  I didn't have "pain" but I was uncomfortable.  Protein shakes, water, etc. made me terribly nauseous.  Those first days I DID NOT get in all my shakes or water but I did the best I could and I'm still alive!

I admit I had a tiny bit of "buyer's remorse" but I knew (because of this website) that it would get better and it did.  Just when I started feeling human again at about 3 weeks, I hit a 17 day stall.   I had lost 20 pounds right off the bat!  You and I are were just about at the same starting place....I hope you lose quicker than me!

It's all worth it!  You'll be back to normal and enjoying your favorite- HEALTHY- foods soon!
Hang in there!

Oh Val, I'm so sorry you had that long ride home.  I hope that it doesn't last in your memory and that you can focus on being off all those meds!   Is your regular doctor going to keep an eye on your heart rate for you?

You're doing great with sleeping, sipping and walking.  Just keep doing it and soon you'll feel so much better.  The first 2-3 days are really the worst, then it's coasting to recovery.
