 Good Morning everyone!

I'm having a quiet morning.  I've been up since before 5am, unable to sleep.  This has been going on for over a week of only 5 hours a night sleep and I'm so tired out.  The only thing moving so far this morning is my scale.  174.6 yesterday, 174 today, YAY!

I'm keeping it low key today.  I'm planning an hour of swimming this afternoon and some time in the sun.  I know I'll have a long hike tomorrow morning so I'm good with a lighter day today.

What are you all doing to move today?

Hi Lee...great job on the scale moving downward! Unfortunately for me, the scale jumped up 2lbs. I can only contribute it to the recovery period. I hate this not being able to move much. I went yesterday for my nails/gel pedi appt and sat for 2 hrs. It was comfy enough but boy did I hurt afterwards. Ugh, then we went to Costco and I felt like I was gonna fall out. Then I went home sat on the heating pad and took tylenol and called it a night.

Today I am just sitting still and it is driving me crazy!! I will not go lapping around today. I wish I had a pool...swimming sounds WONDERFUL!!!

Aww Diana ...U and I are gonna be in the recovery ward together after Mondays nasal surgery (  NO EXERCISE  written large on docs instructions for thirty days lol )

U know what .. we'll survive without it ( and hopefully not overeat either ) .  Take comfort from the fact that Ur hard exercising reset Ur body's setpoint lower and though the scale may go up a bit ... it probably wont go far ...thank GOD .

I have always thanked myself for exercising the MOST  when i was sedentary for a bit ...  and then found myself right back in the old routine ... with powerful lungs and powerful output and a nice body like instantly .

Making the effort to exercise truly IS like putting money in a bank ..it adds up surprisingly fast and lasts ( thank God for small favors - maybe this is a BIG one though) forever ....

Thanks Ava...you are so sweet! I am trying not to 'snack' but popcorn got me today...I ran and ran from it....put up all my defenses.....

ok, no I didn't....I welcomed it with open arms....yummy popcorn..........

Today went well ~ I really didn't do much today other than sit in the truck with my hubby while he ran some errands. Sat outside on front porch to eat lunch...sitting down now typing and watching tv. Kinda tired of sitting....but at least I sat today without pain.

You're right...we'll make it through. Once I can get full clearance......watch out!!!

Diana,   I hope you're paying close attention to your body *said in stern voice*.  Don't overdue it miss!  Your body has just been through a major trauma and needs you to play really really nice.  You'll have lots of time to challenge yourself later on.

You can come swimming with me anytime!  I was in the pool twice.  30 minutes, then 60 minutes.  The sun was hot and I got some sun.

I am trying to pay attention to my body...trying real hard. Today I did nothing but sit sit sit sit and sit. I have become very attached to my heating pad. It baffles me that the RNY was easy breezy compared to this surgery. The mind and body are not in alignment at this time...lol

I will so take you up on the swimming when I come visit you!!

Love you Ava!  I was reading about the plus size runway on yahoo yesterday.  They said that Emme is going to host a runway event and that the models would be size 14-16.  I really don't understand how you're in that category!

So where's the details of how hard you're working out on the runway?  :)  I want to hear everything please.

theres normie "plus"  ( thats me) -  to the press theyd probably be called "normal girls "  - and then theres ultra plus ... ie 14-16 .

then there are the regular plus samples that are usually made 6-8 size  and a coterie of   "plus sized "models who fit for them and show them ...

I think the manufacturers have woken up to the fact that designers designing for coat hangers doesnt equal clothes that sell well to the  general public -  and that no name designers and Chinese manufacturers are getting peoples clothing $  because the designers arent making anything FLATTERING  .

So therefor some designers are trying to put a few " plus " designs on the  runway with a "plus size "model as small as they can get away with.  Im sure my size 2 body makes them want to barf into a bag ...but they HAVE to dress me lol.....  now as far as PAYING ME comparably  or PHOTOGRAPHING me for ads or catalog.... NOT .

Im happy to be working HOWEVER .  I did PROMOTIONAL work a few days ago ..and so what ?!  I have PS to pay for ..and new veneers !  I even told my booker id be a bikini- clad budweiser  girl if i had to ..lol ....no shame at all    The way i see it is - if im home siting in front of the TV  , tempted to overeat and NOT getting paid ....its a lot better to be hawking some vodka or something somewhere cool and getting a  paycheck , no ?  And at least its not quite WAITRESSING , not that theres anything wrong with that ...

Years ago i was never better than a regular , working run of the mill catalog and commercial model anyway  and Ill be PERFECTLY  happy to get back to doing that if I still have what it takes to come out on top in cattle calls AND i drop this last all important twenty lbs  and miraculously keep it  off .....  I think my future is in TALKING  anyway ....on TV or something ...if I can manage to win this weight battle .....

Other than that I was in a show by a designer named Charles Chang Lima ...  so i did get to walk a fashion week runway for a minute  .   I  wore a long black stretchy lace dress ,  leopard print silk capris with a jacket , a short dress  and a coat outfit ...  I didn't fall down or trip , the too large stretchy dress didnt fall OFF  ...so its all good ...  it was a secondary show ( by that i mean for the BUYERS as opposed to the PRESS and a few celebrities )  but i think it might have been his ONLY show so maybe ill be on fashion TV  briefly at 4 in the morning lol ....

the whole fashion world is in a tizzy about this size thing ....  I mean Victoria Beckham went on the record stating shes a size 6  when shes OBVIOUSLY a double zero in anyones book....   the thing is designers swear their concoctions look BEST  on skeletal girls .... ( and since theyre designing for them they DO  actually )  .

well the  female headed design houses like Diane von Furstenberg , Bestey Johnson , and the few that understand and take pains to flatter real womens bodies ( Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren where basically  no name ( usually  female ) fashion school graduates actually DO the designing BTW - the masthead guys just give the general ideas for the most part , approve the designs and collect the money lol ) are doing better than ever  financially as a result .

Personally I have a beautiful ( on the hanger ) Marc Jacobs runway coat that makes me look like a BRISKET  walking ...so I myself applaud the trend towards FLATTERING  , however convoluted the way is to finally get BACK there .....

Just doing the usual Saturday chores today and a little yard work. I did get some sun by driving the MGB around this morning and afternoon.

Congrats on that scale moving down. Rock on!
