Protein Hot Cocoa mix....
Okay, here's my experience:
Healthsmart/Healthwise/Nashua Nutrition (they are all the same, just different labels): yummy. Mixes well even if you get the water too hot. I've tried all the flavors and like the plain ones the best.
Proti-diet: not as good. The chocolate flavor is a bit weak and it is more prone to clumping
Making your own: mixed results. Unflavored protein powder does have a flavor and you can taste it if you put a lot in. One scoop seems to be too much for an 8-12 oz mug of hot chocolate for me. I think is is partly because you have to mix the protein powder with lukewarm water first. I've had better luck with chocolate flavored protein powder.
In general, I think it's well worth it to buy the packets and just add water. I use them at work and at home at night when I want to "top off" for the day. Mixing my own is too much work in both those cases and so pretty much never happens.
