To our Jewish Lightweights...
L'Shanah Tova - which I reminded my son last night means - May your Name be Inscribed in the Book of Life. I told him to eat apples and honey for both of us to welcome in the New Year with sweetness and good health.
Last Yom Kippur, as I walked along the beach with a good friend, I weighed 240 something pounds. I told her that I didn't know how I was going to do it, but that I would be in a normal size body next Yom Kippur (which is next week). I just actually prayed to be anything under 200 pounds. At the time I had no idea about WLS because my doctor had not yet recommended it. Someone up there must have been listening because I am welcoming in this New Year is a body that is so much healthier and can pass for "normal" in American circles where so many are obese. I'm so grateful for each and every ounce that has left my body. Next year I will truly be in a "normal" , healthy body.
So, L'Shanah Tova to all of my Jewish LW friends.
