Arms, -95 lb, and cap sleeves
Dear LW I need your honest opinions. Some of you may understand what I'm about to say. I'm 56 yo and I've lost 95 plus with WLS. needless to say I have wrinkles, or creepy arms. In the grand scheme of thins they don't look that bad, but never the less they fo not look their best. I need a dress for a cruise and a wedding. I have found a couple of dresses I like but the one I like best has cap sleeves. Do any of you have the same issues, do you say screw it and wear sleeveless anyway? One side of me does not care but the other side says, girl get a grip and pay the price of WLS. Tell me what you really think, I can take it.

Here's what I think: I can't answer you honestly without seeing what it looks like. If you're not comfortable posting a pic here, do you have a friend who can give you an honest opinion?
In many cases, we don't look nearly as bad as we think we do. In some other cases, we probably needed someone to tell us: "girrrl! what are you wearing???" If you have such a friend who will stop you if you need stopping and who just doesn't because you look so great, then you should be just fine.
But if you don't have such a friend, I'm happy to help with a pic. If you really want it?

OMG! I have them!
Creepy arms! Love it. I was so excited about the possibility of wearing tank tops or short short sleeves to get rid of my farmers tan but Nooooo. It's kind of loose where my arm pits meet the upper arms. I've lost 104 lbs and I am just now noticing that they are starting to "settte" a bit and not look as frightening as a month ago. PLus I started doing weights here and there. I was real excited to weat tank tops for horseback riding. Well, too embarrassed but maybe that will change.

Yes, most of the time.
Today was an exception. I took part in an Employee Circle with our CEO that was taped. The tape might end up part of a keynote speech he's giving. I decided I didn't want my creepy arm skin in that video.
But I wear capped sleeves a lot and most of the time I don't care. If I look down and see the wrinkles, I just flex my arms to make them go away.

i take a little cardi with me in my purse when i go . My issue isnt so much the crepeyness as that everyone in the fashion world has STICKS for arms it seems and mine look strikingly , well, NORMAL weight . And they dont respect that ....
a little silk matching cardi really hides everything and does double duty by being elegant and casual at the same time . Often a strapless or tank dress is just a tad overdressed ... or a bit too coquetish.( especially if Ure stacked on top) ... so U have the option of " classicing " it down .... and taking Ur top off only if U have reason to compete lol ! The cardi is also very slimming cuz it hugs U from the back .....

Mari, sounds like we are a lot alike. I am 56 and have lost 104. I have some more to go.
I wore the cap sleeves all the time with crop pants this summer.
I have worn sleeveless dresses but I wore a little shrug over it. I have gone out a couple of times with a sleeveless shirt and knee length shorts.
I think you should get what you will be comfortable in. If you are going to worry about your arms the whole time I would get a shrug or lite jacket to go over it. If it is not going to bother you, I wouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks!!
Good luck.
