I remember feeling exactly as you describe!  Enjoy your day - take in the sunshine, walk a little farther than usual, smile at your health that is and that is to come.  Tomorrow will be another day, and while the road won't be easy, it's the way to a new life!  And may you be blessed in it, now and always.

I was a wreck the day before surgery! Just try to keep busy, clean your house, prepare post-op meals for yourself and family, etc. Hopefully the day will fly and it will be time for your "nap" during surgery!

Thanks all, THe house is clean, I even cleaned out closets. We leave for Seattle today. Since we live in an isolated area I am going to visit malls and look at clothes. I will be able to attend a support group tonight.

Good luck...I too was a bit anxious the day before...found a friend to chat with on the phone for hours....helped pass the time.  Sounds like you have it covered.  Hang in there, and let us know how you are doing.

Yup, I was there! My partner at work actually told me to "go home - you're useless here, and you are NOT a decorative element in the office!" Then the next morning, if they'd been 5 minutes slower prepping me, I might have backed out.

I'm so glad I hung on and had this done, and I bet you will be too!

While you are in surgery, I will be having my all clear liquid day to get ready for surgery the next day.  I have so much to do I haven't had much time to get scared.  Trying to wrap up all the loose ends that I won't want to deal with when I get home.
I'm sure we will both do great.  Save me a place on the loser's bench on the other side.
