Had a good, but busy Labor Day Weekend.
Did a lot of walking at the zoo yesterday with hubby & daughter-- BEAUTIFUL day!
6 month check-up last week brought the announcements:
"You are no longer morbidly obese, you are simply obese now!"
"if you came to us today and asked for the surgery, you would NOT qualify!"
"Your BMI has dropped from 46 to 34 - not bad for 6 months of work!"
"Your BP has reduced to well within our desired ranges - in fact - you might be a bit low"
(see iron /ferritin results to help explain that one I think!)
I've lost over 50" overall since surgery week.
Lab results from last week's 6 month- most levels were where they needed to be, but she pointed out a couple to me for now and will mail the full report home.
Protein - very good levels
Vit Bs- very good levels
Iron/ferrtiin - very low (thus the lack of energy) (even with the daily iron (ferrous fumerate) tablets I'm taking.. so we'll be bumping up my vit. c to this routine to see if we can get this to absorb better)
Vit D- very low (even with the booster routine I've been on- so we'll be upping that and adding a fish-oil capsule to help encourage more absorption)
If any of you have suggestions of how to boost these better- I'm open to them!
today's plan:
B: 1 peach & 1/2 c cottage cheese (15g)
L: 1/4 c brown rice, 3 oz shredded beef, 1/4 c green peas (20g)
S: 1 sf chocolate candy & Atkins bar (17g)
D: grilled kilbasa, steamed veggies and cheese stick (30g)
S: chocolate protein shake (30g)
Protein target: 112g
vitamins - on track
Water - on track

Good afternoon Roz! Been absent from the board ....been getting stuff done while the weather is so nice. Not much going on waiting at the hospital while Sandy has a MRI for her MS to check for brain lesions. Worked out today had some cardio and Weight training. Vitamins are in and I had some Bourbon chicken with lo mein noodles and a cherry pastry with a coffee. That's about it for now ...see ya later........
Hi Friends.......worked at clearing brush and piling it so as to burn tomorrow.......Didn't eat anything else today and am not really hungry....maybe later........did drink a shake a few minutes ago and am sitting in bed with a glass of water. Got the trash out to be picked up tomorrow.... Kinda miss you guys so I might catch up on reading posts ........take care friends.....
