NSV: Size 4 pants!! But now I'm all confused!

I was sleeved on March 17 and have felt like the slowest loser in the world!  I am close to a "normal" BMI but still feel pretty huge.  Just about 35 pounds gone, 25 to go.

But... my best friend was cleaning out her closet and passed on a half-dozen pair of size 4 pants, and danged if every one of them doesn't fit!  Comfortably!!

WHAT?  Me, at 140 pounds, in a size FOUR???  I about died.  Seriously.  I am a much larger size on top because of "the girls," but... size FOUR pants?  Whaa??

I honestly don't know what to think.  I still feel ginormous at 140 lbs and 5'2".  I still have just over 25 pounds to go to get to goal.  But... size 4 pants.  Yikes.

This whole process can really mess with your head, can't it?

I'm 5'2" and 55 years old.  VSG 3/17/10

Hey - I'm 5"2 or so and 51 also!  I'm a size 4, but 125 lbs... It has a lot to do with how and where we carry our weight.  You said your "girls" were still pretty large?  That's probably where the majority of your weight still is then.  If you get down to to 115 - you can pretty much kiss them good bye!!

Congrats on the 4's - I also had a hard time wrapping my head around it.  When I first got on this board I had people telling me I'd be in a 4 - didn't believe a word they said.

Now - going back to when we were in high school, I was a 12 and 7 lbs heavier than I am now  The sizing has definitely gone haywire since then.  I have to try EVERYTHING on.. (pants wise).  Different manufacturers size things differently.  There are some size 2's I can wear too...

I know what to think..... You're TINY!  You must be so darn excited and I'm excited for you.  The thought of single digit pants is enough to make me swooooon!

I totally understand what you are going through.  I am wearing size 4 mostly but also 6's (depending on the brand).  I swear they have totally changed the sizing standards to make women happier.

As for the 'girls'   I went from a D to an A, talk about sad!  Definitely miss them

Congrats on the 4's...
