Good Morning Movers!

Well, I think our subject line says it all today.  Our very own Shannon, who couldn't walk a mile several months ago and couldn't run a mile 2 months ago, got a MEDAL in her first 5K today!  How cool is that!

Shannon leads the day and her exercise is done for today.  Now what are the rest of us doing?  Let's make her as proud of us as we are with her.  Remember that no exercise is too small or short to report.  We're in this to challenge ourselves, so please join in everyone.  I know I need all of you to stay motivated to move.

My plan for today:

Meeting my best friend (15 years younger, size 0) for a hike this morning.  We used to do this hike all the time 20 years ago but that's the last I've done it.  I just remember huge hills.  I'm hoping we'll hike for an hour and a half, but anything over an hour will please me.

This afternoon I'm going up to the swim club with two friends to swim laps.  I'm hoping it's warm enough out for me.  I'm a wuss about getting in the pool when it's not hot out.  I'm always the first one up to the hot pool!  :)

It's the weekend!  Let's have fun and include moving in our day.

What's your plan?

Sounds like you have a great day planned, Lee.

I'm doing laundry, so up and down stairs all day. Also doing a little yard work. Watered and spread some grass seed already this morning. It's a really nice day today, so maybe I'll walk Sir Rascal Newton this afternoon.

Congrats to Shannon!

Yesterday was my first day off all ibrupropen and I am really feeling it.  I did get the pony clipped yesterday and am going to wash the harness and get everything ready to take him to the trainer tomorrow.
Acetaminophen seems to do nothing for my arthritus.  Anyone have anything that works.  I might need to get back to swimming to help my knees.

Way to go Shannon! That is so cool.

I got back on track today and did a 5 mile hill run. I ended up walking up the steepest part of the hill today to baby my shin splint a little. I wore a shin splint brace and it really helped to keep the pain down. I still iced it when I got home, but stupid me, I iced it without a barrier between the ice pack and my skin. Now I have a burn on my leg where the ice pack was -- crazy! It actually hurts and feels hot.

I feel good about getting the run in today though. I kind of start to panic if I go a few days without running.....I feel like I will lose my endurance.

You guys are seriously the best!!! I'm done for today, but right back on the treadmill tomorrow morning! I'm gonna keep up the training because I'm doing another one next month.
