Thanks for the reminder Liz.  I always have protein bars in my desk and well as food in the fridge and protein shakes etc.  Living in a big city, I'm never far from food unless I'm on a hike and I eat well before heading out.

It sounds like you had a pretty good visit and a VERY successful 6 months!

You are still a newbie trying to find what works best for you.  The main thing is, it has to be whatever you can live with forever.  This isn't a "diet" it's a lifestyle.  If you can go without the snack then good for you, but if you are hungry and wanting something then don't deprive yourself of a healthy snack.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

 Hi Roz,

While I've counted calories, carbs, protein etc, I have eaten everything as soon as my plan allowed real foods.  This is definitely not a diet for me.  I'm hoping that when I get to goal I won't be as restricted because my body will be used to fruits, veggies and everything else.

I appreciate your VERY successful in the first sentence because your opinion matters a lot to me.  I definitely listen to those of you that went along this path before me.  :)

"He also said that eating dinner at 8 is counterproductive because it slows down my metabolism to eat so late."

It doesn't though. Eating gives our metabolism a little boost. So it actually speeds it up a little.

Plus there are some recent studies that show it doesn't matter what time you eat your calories, but how many you eat over the day.

Which is good because it's 11:15pm here and I'm about to have a protein hot chocolate and then go to bed. LOL

Marie, you always have a great sense of humor.   At the pool today, someone else told me that it doesn't matter what time you eat your calories.  There is so darn much conflicting information out there.

Lee you are such an inspiration.  You support everyone else and you are generous is sharing your struggles.  You are going to be successful in the long run because you are so consistent in following your program.  You are my role model.

Judi!  Thank you so much.  I really appreciate your kind words and am very honored that you think highly of me.  We should try to get together sometime.  It doesn't have to just be at the OH Contra Costa Luncheon.
