Hi everyone. How are we all doing?

Dropped my son off at college yesterday. He's 4 hours away from home and mom's a little sad and nervous (he has Asperger's so he has trouble with change and socializing). Got to be careful that I don't EAT my feelings. Walking, meditating, journaling . . .

also was just appointed to my county's Board of Elections. Hope it keeps me busy

Hi Bonnie!  Good to see you.

Sending kids off to college can be stressful.

I have been through some "emotional" issues in the past few weeks and found myself heading for the cupboard - I think what the difference is now, is we are aware of it and can stop ourselves.  Before it was more subconscious.  I DID stop myself when I got to the cupboard going "what the heck am I doing?"....

Congrats on the appointment!

I hope your son does well and finds folks that he'll feel comfortable with. It took my son a couple of years to get into a groove and find friends that he could hang out with comfortably. He still hasn't started dating anyone and this mom is getting anxious. lol

Congrats on your new appointment.  If you can herd cats, I guess you can herd politicians too.

Have a great Saturday.

Congratulations on your new appointment!

I hope that your son is able to find a good space for him to flourish off at school.  One of my friends has a daughter with something similar to Asperger's who is now in her third year at college.  She's done so well with making friends that matter to her.

We all get the empty nest thing going on when they leave.  I hope you'll spend more time here with all of us.  Let us support you.  We promise not to pack on the pounds!  :)

Is this his first year?  I remember how hard it was, but I also remember how I started to enjoy it after awhile and then when then when it got close to graduation, I couldn't wait for them to come home again.  Life is ups and downs and your tool will help you, just listen to it.

Congrats on being appointed to the Board.  That should keep you busy at least for the next few months.  and then he will be home for the holidays.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Congrats on getting your son off to college and on your new appointment. I am sure you will be busy.
I dont think we ever stop worrying about our kids no matter how old they get.  Hang in there and I am glad you are trying not to turn to food.
