2 Months and Forty Pounds Gone!
Good morning Lightweights! I haven't been quite as active since I am either working or at nursing school all day every day now. I still read, but don't post as much. Since today is two months out, I figured I should post a "hello, I'm still here, but shrinking all the time" post. My never-ending stall did, of course, end eventually, and today I am sitting pretty at 180.75, which I'm rounding up to 181. I began at 221 so I've lost forty pounds total, which is great, and I'm well on my way to my next goal, which is -50 by October 2 (three months out).
I also have had quite a few NSV's during this time, and during my five-week stall, I learned to appreciate them even more than the number on the scale. My blood pressure prior to surgery was 160/99, my heartrate at rest was between 100 and 140. I was on the very cusp of diabetes, had terrible GERD and couldn't sleep on my back because my boobies were way too heavy! I couldn't walk up stairs without being short of breath. I was always hot and sweaty and disgusting. Walking a mile was torture, and the only store I could shop in was Target (XL, XXL, 16).
Now my blood pressure is 120/78, my heartrate is 92 (and I'm working on it). My blood sugars are normal, I can sleep any which way, and I haven't had a moment of heartburn since surgery. I can run up stairs just fine, and frequently do at work! I am only sweaty when I'm working out. I can walk for hours, and can actually RUN! I'm doing the couch to 5k plan, and so far, it's a breeze. I am now in a loose size large, and a size 12 dress.
I didn't do this to look "better" since I always felt pretty cute, but I didn't want to go through life feeling sick and tired all the time, especially as young as I am. I'm happy and excited about my improved health, and for the first time in my life, I really feel like I can do anything. The world is my oyster, and I finally have the energy and the confidence to go out and grab that pearl!

You are doing fantastic. I remember how I never had a minute to myself while doing the nursing program--very time consuming and rigorous. It's great you are doing the couch to 5 K. It will really help with your stress level while being in school. It's important on your CRAZY days to get exercise in to help your sanity and help get your heart rate down. Keep up the good work. Lin
