For many different reasons, I have chosen to keep my WLS a secret.  I'm sure people have "guessed" that I had RNY but no one has been bold enough to ask.  Only 3 people knew of my surgery and they were all family members.

I recently started seeing someone this summer and things eventually became intimate.  Prior to that moment, I think I just casually said that my body under my size 6 clothing was a train wreck and was vague in saying why.  He did not seem to be bothered by it and our relationship has been a whirlwind of love and romance.  Last night he began to inquire about my eating habits, loose skin, etc.  He asked in a very loving and sensitive way.  I have no idea where this relationship is going but I pray that it will lead to positive things and I felt comfortable and confident in my choice to share my WLS with him.  Needless to say, he accepted my "confession" in the most positive way and shared some things with me that has empowered me to be open about my decision to have WLS.  Its an amazing feeling and I'm totally at peace with being open about my surgery---I can only hope that my admission to the truth from here on out will help someone in the future.

Thank you for listening my LW lovesssss!!!  Only you could understand any of this!!!

Thanks Ava--I don't regret waiting to tell him until I felt confident that we would a "long term" thing!

Kelli, he sounds like a keeper!!

It is so personal of whether to tell or not.  I have told everyone that I know and never regretted it, but I understand why someone would not.  I'm married so I have not had to worry about meeting guys and what to tell them.  I doubt I would have told him at the very beginning either.

I'm glad things are working out for you.

I'm glad he received it well.  Quite frankly, any of the guys I told about my WLS were perfectly fine with it.  They were very positive and supportive that I took control of my life back.  But then I've been very open about it for quite awhile.
