Fitness Challenge - August 31st
Good Morning!
I can't believe tomorrow is September. I think we've been doing this fitness challenge all summer now. Wow on consistency. I know I've moved a LOT more because of all of you.
Let's keep Diana in our thoughts today. I hope she's recovering well from her surgery yesterday. Keep swinging whatever critters until we hear from her please.
I ended up walking the lake twice yesterday as well as 30 at lunchtime. It was beautiful when I walked out of the office last night and decided another 3 miles would be good for me. Still no change in the scale but it felt great anyways.
Today is a short exercise day for me because I have my meditation group tonight. We're going to watch a Louise Hay movie called "How to Heal your Life". It should be good.
So my plan is:
Walk 45 minutes to work
Walk 30 minutes at lunchtime
Walk 15 minutes home
I had planned to drive to work but knew I wouldn't get up early enough to hit the gym, so walk it is.
What are you doing today?

In addition to my 2 mile walking (for normal activities) I'll go on another of my 2 mile runs in just a moment. I'll add my 200 crunches and 20 push uppies (I don't know if I can qualify this as a real push up at this point, but it's exercise, darnit) and my new
Brazilian Thigh Killer routine:
1. Holding a squat, slide first leg (with a napkin or towel under shoe) horizontally away from you, in and out. Repeat on other side.
2. Balancing on one leg, as one continuous movement kick other leg in front of you, tuck to pull backwards. Bend standing leg while bringing other leg fully behind you into low squat with moving leg fully behind you in position similar to that of a push up (while other leg is supporting you). (This one is difficult to explain, even harder to do!)
3. Start with legs together, arms in 1st position. While bringing arms to 2nd position, bend down into arabesque. Bring leg and arms back, repeat on other side. Do as a sweeping set of motions without stopping.
I tell you, this workout will burn burn burn those thighs! I couldn't walk after just trying the samples. This is what I get for working out with girlfriends who were once Olympians...
