THe WOWs don't stop 18 months out--they just get farther apart
You would think that by now there wouldn't be any wows left but I had a couple this week-end. We went to a local water park called Oceans of Fun. I have been there many time before when my kids were young and I was very overweight.
I went down every one of the water slides! For me, that is a wow. I used to be afraid of all sorts of things, especially if they were at all physical. As a result I had never gone down one of those fast, twisting and turning water slides. Yesterday I kept going back to do the faster one and the next faster one. I got off one and went right back up.
I got to thinking....why is it so different now. Well I am sure part of it is the massive number of steps you go up to get to the top. I could never have done it at my highest weights. Especially could not have done it repeatedly.
I also think I limited myself for fear of someone wondering why that whale was in swimsuit and especially why someone so large was doing something like that. Lastly, the weight limit said 225 so I would have been afraid to push that.
I also was able to get up on the tube used for floating. Before no matter how hard I tried my arms were to weak to lift my body up so I could sit it the tube. I did it yesterday first try. It is so great to feel strong and capable.
Now I am not posting this to get attaboys from anyone. I just want to let the newbies know what is in their future. It is an amazing journey and the rewards never stop. Hold on for the amazing ride.

HOOAH!! (Sorry I couldn't help myself. I know you didn't ask for attaboys, but hey, you deserve a few.)

Let me say it again, ATTAGIRL Cheryl!!
I'm so proud of you for trying something new and really rocking it. I so understand having fear about trying physical things pre-op. You go girl!

You're so right - they are fewer and farther apart - but they still are just as much fun and as important as the ones early out!
Congrats! Now, where's the pics?
