Soooo close!!!

I'm just 3.6 pounds from the goal which I set for myself.  At the moment I'm fine psychologically (and physically, actually) if I either don't reach it, or it takes me a long time (time being relative) to get there. Reason being is that I feel FANTASTIC health-wise.  I'm so pleased with my progress as it stands.

When I began this journey I wore an XL shirt and size 20 pants.  I now wear size SMALL shirts and size 10 slacks.   The other night it was kinda chilly in my house so I grabbed a pair of my winter pj's.   LOL  HILARIOUSLY HUGE!!!. As I was losing weight, I gave away my larger clothes, but totally forgot about the pj's.  :-)

Let me explain why I said "at the moment" at the beginning of my post. I know myself.  I can be very patient with most things concerning my life, family, friends.  But in the deep recesses of my mind I'm imagining that if it takes more than a "reasonable amount of time" (again, time being relative) to lose those 3.6 pounds I'll probably blow my stack. :-) Because of a bunion-ectomy I had one week ago, I'm not able to exercise for the next 6 weeks.  I'll have to remember that this likely will slow down the weight loss.  But .... oh well.

I promise to post recent photos soon.    Nina

You have done great and can be thrilled.  I'm sure you will keep losing once you can get up and around again.
We are about the same beginning and hopefully ending weight.  Hope my journey is as good.

Thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement.   I see your surgery is scheduled for early next month. I'm sure you'll be very successful in your weight loss journey.  Just make sure to follow the guidelines set by your surgeon and nutritionist and things will go the way you want.    Nina

Wow Ure such an inspiration !! My surgery was 11  months ago and i looked at some  pre sugery pics of myself yesterday and simply could not believe how huge i was lol ....

some of my dresses were 3x and 2x!! ( ok MOST were around a size 12 or 14 but still....)

I am "blowing my stack " regularly now because I feel " fat " when i dont exercise every day like  a madwoman and eat almost nothing lol.  I look fat too .. dont get me wrong .. its NOT in my head .

I need to be a size zero/00  to work, not a two- four plus size lol !!! ( im a model /actress again YAY !!  )   so this 15- 20 lbs really DOES mean EVERYTHING to me .. and yes its UGLY .   My arms are large , my tummy is large , my torso is large .....unfortunately all places that show on camera in EVERY darn shot grrrrr .   My posture is still imperfect too ...so the overall impression is someone that is a nice "normal" but hardly camera worthy lol.

I hate feeling like Im DELUSIONAL  for wanting to pursue my chosen profession !  It doesnt make it easy either that Im a bit older than most models too ..since i lost all these years .....

The bottom line is I need MONEY to suck out these pesky empty fat cells and hopefully reset my bodys setpoint a bit lower ..... and to be a bit more understanding and sympathetic to myself too....

sometimes I just think I need to love myself and show up for myself  as unconditionally as I love and show up for others .... and with daily hard work and discipline God WILL help me finally achieve my dreams .........

Thanks for your sweet compliment about me being an inspiration.  I simply look at it as having a positive attitude :-)

I hope you don't mind me saying this:  the fact that you need to be a Size ZERO in order to be a model is just totally INSANE to me.  The fashion industry really needs to re-evaluate the health issues of those who model their samples on the runway and in catalogs/magazines.  The average size of a woman in the U.S. is 14. I'm not saying that runway or ad models should be size 14 to do their job, but honestly, a size ZERO is just completely wrong, unless you're maybe 5 foot tall. The fact that a size 2 -4 is considered PLUS-Size makes no sense to me.  But if that's what it is, why not aspire to be a Plus Size model?  Nothing wrong with that. And as far as the actress side of you...well, actresses come in ALL sizes.  :-)

I just looked at your most recently added photo and truly you are NOT fat at all.

You mentioned that you feel you should be a bit more more understanding and sympathetic to yourself.  I totally agree :-)  Maybe making a list of what's great about yourself and really studying it might help a bit.  I don't know if you remember when Al Franken would portray this guy named Stuart Smalley on SNL.  Stuart's mantra was "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and doggonit, people like me"  True, it was kind of goofy when he said it, but I believe there's a lot of credence to it.  :-)    Nina

You will definitely get there! Also, as far as the exercise, you can get a good cardio workout by doing kick-boxing style punching. Yet another Jillian Michaels trick (I have a love/hate relationship with her). Anyway, she talks about it in one of her DVDs that I have. If you have a lower-body injury you can sit right in your chair and punch and it will get you sweating and heart rate up.

Congrats on your success!
So sorry to hear about your foot, but you are on the mend!
I would check out the library for some seated workouts on video or disc. If none there and you can afford to buy, I saw some on Barbara Thompson's weigthloss surgery site.
I bet there are more out there if you search.
Just find something to keep you motivated and moving your upper body as much as you can!

Thanks.     And as soon as I'm able to drive, I'll go check out the library for those videos.  Great idea!!
