Goodbye, Plus-Sized Stores...
Today was chilly, which inspired me to think about buying some new clothes. Since Goodwill in NYC basically only carries size zero jeans (and nothing else, really) I had to go into some regular retail stores.
The good news is that the regular 16s are even too big now! I found some beautiful, gorgeous and comfy extra skinny jeans (the skinny legging, actually) in a 14 at the Gap, and they looked amazing, I'm proud to say.
However, they were $70. I couldn't bring myself to purchase a pair of leggings that will only fit for a month (hopefully) for $70.
Needless to say, I'll be heading over to Old Navy (which I believe sizes their clothing a little bigger than the Gap, anyway) to see if they have the same general idea. Maybe I'll even be a 12 in there??
Ah, these size transitions FEEL GOOD. Especially in this city, where the majority of clothing stores don't bother to stock anything over a 6. Can't wait until I get there! (If I do...)

Congratulations!!! I don't blame you on the $70 leggings!! Check ebay though....
Fitting in "regular" sizes is one of my biggest goals! Don't get me wrong, I think there are some beautiful PLUS sized clothes (they've come a LONG way over the past few years)....it's just that I'm short so things in the plus sizes NEVER fit me well.....I'm a pear shape and at my largest I had plus sized hips/butt/thighs but a size 12/14 waist.
I hope I can "even" out as I continue to lose!

I find shopping to be difficult now. I was at Macy's last week and still pick the 1x, 2x or 3x off the rack, thinking it will fit when in reality I'm a M or L in tops.
I do love getting smaller clothes though, I never thought it would happen. What a great thrill. Packing is lighter now as well because my jeans aren't a 22/24 anymore.
Have fun at Goodwill. Could you look for some men's size M cashmere sweaters for my son please or tell me where the great goodwills are in NYC? My son go a hold of one of my crew neck cashmere sweaters from Bloomingdale's and never took it off this summer.
I'm going to check out Old Navy and see if their clothes fit me now!
