goal weight

I had my WLS 2 years ago when I was 55 and I weighed in at 203.  I'm about 4'11 or a little less now.

I lost 75 lbs. on WW when I was in my 30's but I was active with 3 children, but of course that all came back plus.

Other than shopping and chasing grandchildren around, I have done no exercising since surgery.  My goal was to get to 125, but I'm actually at 109 now.  I did drop to 106 for a few days, but 109 is my "magic number".    I bounce between 109 and 112 on a daily basis.

It took me about 7 months to get to my 125 goal and then another 5 months to get the 4/5 months to get the next 16 off and I've kept it off about 9 months now without any problems.  If I had exercised it might not have taken me that long, but I'm very happy with my lifestyle.

I drink 100g of Protein a day, eat 3 small meals, and 3/4 snacks a day

I have no doubts that you can get under 140.  Your goal should be to get to a normal BMI and that's definitely under 140 for our height.

Roz, thank you so so much.  I really love to hear stories like this.  You give me hope that if I work the tool and stick with it, I can make it to NORMAL.  Woohoo.

I have had all kinds of goals over the years.  About 15 years ago I dieted and exercised from 185 down to 125 and stayed there for several years doing 10-12 hours of martial arts every week.  I still felt overweight but could fit into a size 8 and felt reasonably okay with my size.  When I remarried and stopped exercising so much (as well as cooking for my new hubby every night!) the weight started creeping back on.  I managed to stay in the 140-150 range for quite some time, then ballooned up to the 160-170 range, then dieted and exercised down to 140.5 a couple of years ago when my DH was on an out-of-town work project for almost a year, then it started creeping up again as soon as he got home.  And when I started grad school a year ago, it SHOT up to 175 with no end in sight and I knew I had to do something!

Before I learned I might be able to have WLS, I though if I could get back to 140 and stay there I'd be ecstatic.  Well, I'm at 140.8 today and although I'm certainly happy with my progress, I'm going for broke -- I've set my goal at 115, which is what I weighed as a sophomore in high school, which is the last time I remember not feeling fat!   And who knows?  Maybe with the help of my sleeve, I'll be able to go even lower?

I'm 5'2" and 55 years old.  VSG 3/17/10

You are doing great.  140 will be my first goal, but I plan on sticking with it until I stop losing.  We will see where that ends up.  Thanks for your response.
