What happened to my period?
...and no, I'm not pregnant. ;)
I always get it regularly, exactly on time. I've had 2 since my RNY, and both were much heavier than usual. Now it's time for the next one, and it showed up, as usual, on time. But it's been ridiculously light. I guess I shouldn't complain, but since I've never experienced this before, I'm more alarmed.
Have any of you experienced this? Of what might it be a symptom? Could it just be the rapid weight loss? But if so, why didn't that slow things down last month, when I lost gobs of weight?
Thanks for your help!

Yes, it's most likely the sudden weight loss and is very common. There's absolutely no reason to be alarmed. The first time I lost gobs of weight, I had irregular but heavy periods for about a year, and then stopped bleeding entirely for a while. I wouldn't worry about it. Hormones can go a bit wild when we lose weight, and this can lead to irregular, heavier, lighter, more or less frequent periods, although lighter, less frequent periods are most common. Things will even out as you get to a healthy weight and start maintaining.
