Pelvic reconstruction surgery
I had another appt today to ask the doctor about other symptoms I have and contributed to the loss of weight and it being more noticeable now...anyways, in addition to the surgery he was going for on Monday to remove a cyst, he now says that I do have pelvic prolapse. He started rattling off several procedures by name and said that it would be a total of 5 procedures to correct all that he saw. So, I am not sure how many procedures he'll add on for Monday. He was able to extend to the OR to a total of 3 hrs ~ he said he may be able to squirrel around more time...???
Bad news for my running though...He told me NOT TO RUN EVER after my surgery...is this completely true? I can so imagine that recovery will take a long time but to say I can NEVER run seems very dramatic. He's kinda ol'e school in his thoughts....like he said I would never get rid of the diabetes/heart medication...ha...showed him.
Does anyone have any experience with this or know someone who does and what level of activities did she resume after surgery??
I asked if the many years of being obese caused the problems...he said that genetics and giving birth to large babies and long deliveries are the culprit. Well, the youngest boy was a long hard delivery as he got stuck, was facing the wrong way and he was 9lbs + when born. Um, I'm blaming the kid on this one...lol
Thanks for letting me vent and please please tell me this is not a bad thing...I feel like I'm being punished for whatever reason...don't know why I feel bad...just do.
I know I'd like to get my tailbone hacked off - but its not nearly at a point where it would be THAT bad.. I think I've put a little weight back on in that area, so its a little more cushioned now.

So, I'm pretty sure he's right about the diagnosis ~ and yes, it is extensive (and sounds VERY painful) but I am thinking I should just girl up and get it all fixed now instead of symptomatically taking care of things. I personally only want to be surgically touched there ONCE!! lol
The hubby comes back next thursday so he'll be taking care of me ~ and I have a sit down job so maybe I can go back early enough if I take it easy...I am kinda mad to think that I lost all this weight to "fall apart" but I know its just what it is and tough to be a woman...a goddess... :)
Don't know what to advise about the activity level...would follow dr. orders though....you must be a runner? Hang in there and good luck with your surgical procedures.

Yup, I'm an aerobic junkie!! Love to run...why?? cuz I can now...damned it all :)
I'm researching long term activity levels but not finding much on the internet. Oh well, patience is not in my dna. Soooo...I will be a very good girl and not do anything stupid or ya'll come kick my butt!! :)
