Sick and surgery in one week

Over the weekend, I started feeling like, I was getting a cold. I've been taking vitamin C, drinking plenty of fluids, but I have the scratchy throat, headache, and low energy. I should have kept low over the weekend, but I was trying to prepare my house and was doing some cleaning and shopping. No fever. I am worried that my surgery will be cancelled.

Let your doctor know in case he or she wants you to do something about it.  I was sick with an upper respiratory infection until the day of surgery, but my surgeon chose to go ahead anyway.

Hi Gail, sorry you're not feeling so great.  I had a bad sinus infection/sore throat type thing pre-op.  I remember that I started a 5 day round of antibiotics that I finished on Sunday and had surgery on Wednesday.  My sore throat kept going for another week post-op but it didn't all stop my surgery.

I agree, call the nurse at Kaiser and tell her you're a little under the weather but don't have a fever etc.  Can you stay low this week?

Let us know how you're doing.  You have another week to recover.

I plan on staying home tomorrow, especially since it is my 12 hour day. I left work early today and rested. No fever.

I suppose I should let my surgeon know. I am doing all the right things i.e. fluids, nasal rinses, etc. I think I did too much over the weekend, which didn't help. I should of spent the time resting.

I hope my surgery isn't cancelled.

Let's be uber optimistic.  It won't be cancelled!  I visualize you on the table having surgery.  :)

You are so sweet!!! (((HUGS))). I love your positive thinking. I have been saying positive thoughts today, but the worry is definitely there. So, I should let the doc know what is going on?

Hi Gail, We met at Saturday's WLS luncheon - I'm Kristen, your surgery-date-buddy from Kaiser Richmond (Lee's friend). I'm w/Lee...visualize your surgery happening on Monday, and lay low and take care. I would definitely call or email Dr. Dutta.
I'm glad it doesn't sound serious :)  I will visualize BOTH of us up on that table A.Week.From.TODAY!!!!!

You girls are both going to look great on the operating table.  I can't wait until the next luncheon where the two of you are going to be comparing notes and celebrating how great you're doing!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am visualizing my surgery and have been trying to be positive. I will definitely secure message Dr. Dutta in the AM. At least I'm not running a temp and have almost a week to recover. I am staying home from work tomorrow to rest.
!

Thank you for the kind words.  I will also visualize both of us on the operating table having successful surgeries!!!!!!!  It is so great to share a surgery day with you. Let's keep in touch!!!
