Tasty, healthy, and cheap

I had to eat out the other night because I was short on time. I went into Arby's with my SIL and ordered the $1 Arby's Deluxe. I just tossed the bun and ate the meat, lettuce, and tomato with some horseradish on it. Yummy and satisfying.......and it only cost $1.

One thing I've noticed is that when I get in these situations that I need to get something out, I will order a sandwich rather than a salad because it's cheaper, you get more protein, and you can still have the lettuce, tomato, etc. on it. Like Subway...you may get the same amount of protein there, but you pay more for the salad.

Thanks. This is actually what I was planning on doing if/when the situation arises. I used to eat a lot of fast food for convenience so I have been trying to figure out what I could eat if I find myself unable to get home to prepare a meal. I was thinking I could get a McDonalds $1.00 hamburger without the bun.  I have an Arby's nearby so I will try that when I need to.

Another option for McD's is the grilled chicken patty ($2.00).  I usually pair it with the apple dipper ($1) without the carmel sauce.

I like the Grilled Snack Wraps. I peel the tortilla down like it's a paper wrapper and eat the meat, cheese and lettuce as it gradually gets exposed.

Oooo  I LOVED Arbys before surgery - and all that good gooey sauce they put on it - lol...

I haven't had it since surgery, but nice to know there's a healthy option if I need something quick on the go!

I find salads just don't keep me full long - slides right through.

I'm not a big fast food fan.  Where I live there seems to be a restaurant on every corner.  If I'm really lazy, there's a TOGO's across the street from my office, so I'll occasionally get a small chili.

I haven't been to an Arby's in 40 years, but I used to love them.  With the bun of course!

Great idea!  I don't know why I always buy a salad and end up leaving 1/2 of it.  I should just get the grilled chicken or whatever and throw the bun away.  DUH!!
I hardly ever eat out anymore, but I'll have to remember this.
