Hi Lightweights,

Long time no talk. But I'm still hanging in and I've even had some changes. I had my knee replaced in June as I may have said earlier. Since my stay in the hospital I have lost 15 pounds! So far I think I may be okay keeping it off. My DH is thrilled, he and many including my NP and Nut are thrilled. Before my knee surgery I was doing okay but I had gained about 5 pounds and inching toward a weight I knew I would be unhappy with. So this added bonus of weight loss from my TKR is well received. I have no explanation other than between lousy food in the hospital snd several weeks in a drugged stupor, my pouch shrunk or became very intolerable just like the first months of WLS. I am slightly concerned but not really about losing to much. I just wanted to check in here with you, never to far my thoughts, even though I have been missing you for several months. Oh, has this happened to any one else?

Hi There! I'm glad to know you've gotten your knee fixed and you're losing weight. I know anything to do with bone is really painful and I'm sure you're glad that's behind you.

Hi Gina, good to talk to you. Me too, I don't look forward to having the second one done. It was rough for a couple of weeks.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well!  I have heard a few cases of people having an additional surgery and a jump in weight loss again.  The assumption from my understanding is that a lot of calories are burnt in the healing process.  It makes sense to me, but what do I know!

Hi!  Good to see you back!  Glad to hear you've lost 15 lbs, but having knee surgery was the hard way to do it! LOL

No words of wisdom to share regarding losing weight after having another surgery.  I didn't lose any after my PS  in fact I've gained since then.

Hi Jody! yeah, it was the hard way. But I never would have guessed it would kick start my pouch again. Are you still loving your PS? Mari

I have also heard that some people burn up to 3,000 calories a day just from healing from a major surgery. But like Jody said, not everyone.

I guess I've heard that too, but what I meant to relay was my pouch was back just as if I'd just had surgery with a pouch the size of an egg. Prior to surgery I could easily eat 8 ounce in a seating. Guess I'll take it while I can.
