Another Stall Story
Ok, I've been here before. This is my second WLS so I know how it goes. I am not a fast loser. I did very well at first. I lost 16 lbs the two weeks and about 10 lbs the next. Now no weight loss for a week. I told myself that I would only weigh at the doctors office but of course I couldn't do it. I am following my nut program and tracking my food. I get enough water and protein and am eating about 700 calories a day. I have not gotten into an exercise program yet, though. One of the main reasons I had this surgery is because I have been suffering from bad fatigue for about 2 years and felt certain that it was related to my malabsorption. I also had severe diarrhea. That is gone, thank God but I am still tired almost 4 weeks out from my open surgery. I am starting to feel better and I am hopeful that I will regain my energy now. The only exercise I can do right now is walk. I am going to try to do that every day and when my doctor clears me I may join a gym if I can afford it.
I think the main reason that the stall is worrying me is because my surgeon warned me (twice) that I may not lose weight with the revision. I don't know if he meant because I had already failed one WLS that I am more likely to fail another or if there is a physical reason for me not to lose. I am happy to have lost what I have and mostly I am happy to not have the diarrhea so I guess if this is the best I can do I will live with it.

Hi, I don't know what to tell you except I FEEL your pain. I am in the 3rd week of a stall. I posted on this subject yesterday. I am eating a little bit more than you...so I may have to tweek that a little. Not sure what your Dr. meant either, but I am sure glad your diarrhea has gone!!! After my first wk of surg my wt loss slowed down to about 2 lbs a week which I think is acceptable... exept during my stalls...this is the 2nd one for me at 14 wks out!!! Hang in there and good luck to us both.
