Stalls...how often ???

I am 14 wks out.  I hit a stall at about 7 weeks that lasted 2 wks, and now I now I am starting wk 3 of a 2nd stall !!!!  I have heard these stalls can last SEVERAL weeks!!  I guess I am afraid my wt. loss is over, but deep down I have faith it isn't.  Can I expect to have stalls every 5-6 wks lasting several weeks?  I guess everyone is different, but it would be nice to know if this is going to continue....frequent stalling....till goal.  Anybody have this pattern??

I thought I had frequent stalls, but... I kept track every time I lost a pound (or a few) on a tracking system - then I could go back and see that in fact, I didn't stall as much as I thought.  I just lost in spurts - BUT - around my TOM, I would drop 3-5 lbs.  The rest of the month was 1-4 lbs spread out.

Now - I'm not saying you're NOT stalling - just my perception when I was in my active losing phase.  Everyone is very different in how they lose.

Are you drinking your fluids?  Getting your protein?  Exercising?  Are you pooing?

Jody, I'm drinking >80 oz fluid a day 80-100g protein a day, exercising 3-4 x a week (should be more).  1000 cal a day.  I am bouncing from 186-189 for about 3 wks...I am assuming that is a stall.  I am post-menapausal so that's not it.  Just wondered how often and how long these things last?

It sounds like you're doing everything right.  Heck - I'd be ecstatic if I exercised 3-4 times a week!

Hang in there - I don't know if anyone will have a pat answer for you... its so individual...

I am about where you are in weeks but just relax a bit. I too am in a stall but have decided to just wait it out. If your still doing the things your suppose to then it will start back up. Your body is catching up to where it might think it needs to slow you down. The body tends to get defensive about losing weight. BTW if your working out and such you might gain .....for a lil while...then you will start in losing again. Don't forget "your a loser!". .....lol....love saying that!

I never had a stall. I think it's because I tracked everything and also I did a lot of exercise. Every time my weight loss slowed down, I'd look to see what changed (usually slacking off in exercise) and then change it back. If nothing changed, I'd up my exercise intensity or time.

A lot of programs have us limit calories to 800, not 1000. You might want to try that. I started out around 650 and gradually got up 900 but never got over that until I was pretty close to goal.
