Six Months Today!
Today is six months since I got my new little Sleeve. I my Sleevie. It has definitely served me well.
I started my journey at 249 last fall and had surgery at 229. This morning I finally hit a low of 182. When I hit 188, it was the first time in over 30 years so these pounds are new territory for me. I'm still challenging myself to get to my surgeon's goal of 175 by my appointment on September 2nd but I won't be too sad if I don't get there.
I started wearing 22/24 jeans and now I'm in a loose 16. When I hold up those skinny Wrangler's and then fit my tush in there, I'm quite happy. In non-sized pants and exercise gear I'm in a Medium pant and Large top. When I started I was getting 3x tops. I love the changes in my body.
I love that my body is willing to exercise for hours a day and really only my ankle complains, but that's because it was fractured 2.5 years ago with major surgery 2 years ago.
I feel younger all the time. I have so much more energy and drive for everything in my life right now.
Not much more I can rave about, except if you're still on the fence about surgery, or feel too old. Just Do It! You won't be sorry.
Ok, so there's always another thing to rave about and for me, it's the wonderful people and support here on LW's! There are so many days I was discouraged about what a slow loser I am, but then I'd come here and be so happy to see everyone, that I'd let go of the discouragement and just find things to appreciate. What a fun journey this has been, so thanks everyone!!

Thanks so much Lee!
You have such a winning attitude!! Your posts always make me feel optimistic!
This is a journey and we all lose at different rates, which is so hard to deal with if you
are the slow loser.
It is so good to hear how strong you are now. The hike you had the other day sounded fantastic!
Enjoy your day!

Lee - you've done a phenomenal job! Your attitude can't be surpassed. There are many on the boards that consider themselves slow losers. Some of them give up - but you haven't.
Now - question for you - have you kept track of your monthly losses and percentage of weight loss vs pounds?

You know Jody, I think that Zach being home this summer was my magic ticket. There were so many mornings that I felt a little discouraged and I'd walk into the kitchen to hear Zach tell me how great I look. I was constantly hearing "good job Mama". It's hard to be down where there's someone in your court cheering you on.
I weight daily and have a chart. I have my monthly totals on my profile page here on OH.
