ughh, that sucks. i had a similar stumbling block. the doc's office submitted for me under the wrong surgeon. had to get that changed. it delayed me a couple weeks. hang in there, it will all work out.

If I am not mistaken, at this point in time, the only insurance companies paying for the sleeve are UHC, Aetna, and Cigna.

BCBS in any form (and I had BCBS Medicare Advantage, I saw on the main board you have FedBCBS) doesn't cover the sleeve yet unless things have changed since I saw the policy last time it was posted.

That may change at any time and to be sure you need to get a copy and read it.

BCBS of certain states does approve VSG

see below link

http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/vsg/4188261/BCBS-Plans-in-IL-TX-OK-and-NM-Now-Cover-the-Sleeve/

also Fed BCBS does cover VSG....many people on this board have had it and got approved on the first time.

Where people have problems is due to the reason BCBS Fed is processed through whatever state they live in for instance.  I live in Illinois, my insurance is approved through BCBS IL, therefore if BCBS of IL considers it investigational and you have some one doing the paper work who isn't paying attention they will deny it even though Fed BCBS covers it.  It says so in the policy and if you call with the VSG cpt code they tell you its approved.
