Shannon, I loved reading your great news.  I'm so happy that here you are feeling so great about yourself and now you're going to be studying to do more of what you love!  Way to go girl!

Thanks Lee! I am almost in shock that we were able to pull it off. I have always wanted to be a nurse, but especially now through the WLS journey. Right now, I need to finish my gen. ed. classes and get accepted into the program, there are 2 colleges close by and I am going to apply to both as a safety. I am just going for the RN at first, but I am going to continue and eventually get my BSN and specialize in bariatrics. I want to help people go through this journey!

Shannon, I think it's so important to have nurses and educators that have been through the WLS process.  My Kaiser has a great group but nobody has actually had surgery.  I wish that the support group was led by someone who actually can relate from personal experience what it's like to deal with the problems/gifts associated with the surgery.

I'm cheering for you!

Congrats!
I am so happy for you.
Nursing is a wonderful profession. It has been a great 20 year career so far for me.
