Be Honest...do you ever drink WITH meals/snacks?
For the most part, I don't drink with my meals except if having a glass of wine with my meal. I drink up to 5 minutes before a meal and 60 minutes after a meal. I really haven't had a problem with it and I was a big water drinker with meals before. When it comes to snacks, I have to admit that I drink, it's probably not a good idea, because from about 8:30 to 10:30 at night I can consume quite a bit, but it's usually "catch up" time to get all my fluids in for the day.
I rarely drink with meals and never did even before surgery. I still have a hard time not ordering a drink with a meal when out to eat. What a waste of money that is! The more I drink the less I eat so sometimes when I see I will be having a big carb meal I drink a bit to cut down on the size of the meal but that is a strategy I don't know if I should be doing??? If I drink before meals it really doesn't matter too much as it seems to go right thru me. I think each surgery has it's quirks and DS is different with drinking during meals.
So in true honesty- yes, I have sipped during my meals. And i probably will again...
I tend to choke easily, so having some water nearby to sip if food is too dense or hard to swallow helps. But that being said- I try not to drink with my meal, I sip if I need to.
Luncheables has a new kit (pizza) whi*****ludes the cutest 3 oz water bottle. I take that and freeze water in there over night- use it as an icepack in my lunchbox and that serves as my "sipping" water during lunch if needed. It's a small amount and reminds me to not overdo it.
Juice: I was told by my NUT that drinking juice was fine as long as it's diluted - 50/50...or 25/75 (water being the larger). This is a nice way to change up the doldrums of "water" .... I'm not a huge cyrstal lite fan so sometimes I'll just squeeze a lime/lemonor orange in my water to bring the taste change. I've enjoyed a flat diet sprite after a particularily rough night... that lemon/lime flavor helped cut the acid and discomfort without the carbonation.
If I snack on a highly carb item (cracker/chips/pretzles) I might sip a bit more- to wa**** down as well as 'thin" it so it passes through the pouch faster... "wash away my sins" -- maybe! LOL

I drink with a meal every single meal. Isn't that one of the reasons to have a DS? I know the NUT says nothing 30 mins before and I think 15 after. Of course at this point, just about every meal I have is liquid - broth from chicken and noodle, broth from chicken and rice, broth from vegetable soup, etc. I don't know the difference between drinking liquids and spooning broth???
I only take enough sips to get down my vitamins (I like to take them with meals -- it's supposed to help them be better absorbed).
When I drink too soon after a meal, I get hungry sooner so I try not to do that either.

I always drink with meals. Heck, 2 of my primary meals are drinks. So far so good; and my sleeve doesn't seem to be stretched out as much as folks who eat dense protein and meals rather than several snacks a day.

The only time I've had a sip of water after a meal is if I need to get in a vitamin. I'm generally too full after eating to want to add fluids. I think I wait 30-60 minutes, sometimes longer.
I sometimes eat breakfast within 15 minutes of finishing my tea or decaf coffee, just because I'm hungry or want to eat.
I sometimes get Fuze Slenderize or Sobe Lifewater 0 calorie when they're on sale for $1.00. I guess it's a luxury of being single and shopping for 1. I figure it's a trade off for the Pelegrino sparkling water I used to consume pre-op.
