Just got home. The pain has its moments but so far I am not having any problems taking in fluids, if anything I am able to do more than they want me to. The nausea right after surgery yesterday was HORRIBLE but really that was my biggest complaint beyond that pesky catheter, once the Dr. was told Zofran wasn't working he authorized Phenergan and it was better from there until the 1st walk.
For anyone that is in line for RNY and has had a child via c-section, the pain is quite similar if not a little less. The more you walk though the easier it is to get up. Don't feel guilty about pressing the PCA pump either because once they take it away and switch your pain meds you will miss it. LOL!
