Hair Loss

Me too!
My once full head of thick hair required the extra large barrets to hold it back. Now I can use a small childs barrett and it slips... My NUT began me on Biotin for the regrowth help, but also has me adding 2 shakes a day of WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE brands...
I'm enjoying the Jay Robb chocolate and vanilla shakes.
I already have UNJURY and am now just adding it to everything I can!

Some of the "best" according to her list are:

(measures are 8oz - not mixed with Milk -- add if milk)
*All the whey (www.allthewhey.com) 25g
*Unjury (www.unjury.com)20g
*GNC Pro Performance Whey Isolate 28 28g
*Jay Robb Whey Protein Isolate 26g
*BiPro (www.biprousa.com)20g
*Isopure Zero Carb 40 per 20 ounce shake
*Designer Whey Protein Blitz 30 per 20 ounce shake
*Cytomax Protein Pure Performance Drink 40 per 20 ounce shake

She gave these notes:
? High protein powders list for AFTER surgery. These shakes are different than the weight loss drinks before surgery. (Slimfast high protein and Myoplex light are not acceptable).
? Choose a protein powder labeled as 100% whey protein and no sugar added for the best absorption.
? Protein supplements may be found online, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, Wal-Mart, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Walgreens and other specialty stores.
? Please use this list to choose your protein supplement to ensure good quality protein.
? Protein supplements may be mixed with water, crystal light or 8oz of skim (fat free) milk.
? If you mix your protein supplements with 8oz of skim milk this will add an additional 8g of protein.
? You may use light soy milk or skim Lactaid milk if you have trouble digestion regular skim milk

Hope this transfers clearly--- can email the list to you if you prefer.
Let me know if you find another solution-- hubby threatening to buy me some bonnets and wigs!

I already drink 2 of the GNC Wheybolic shakes a day. It's the only one they carry that is 100% Whey protein isolate. I hope it slows soon.

I thought I got off scott free, but it started at 6 months.  I'm almost at 11 months and I don't see it stopping!  I took Biotin since a month before surgery and started using Nexium about 2 months ago.  Luckily I had thick hair, but if it keeps up at this rate, it's not going to be pretty!

May the hair gods start to look kindly upon us, lol.

I cut my hair too. I have leveled out hope that this last surgery is not going to make the shedding start again. I take multivitamins, b12, zinc, biotin, and vitamin e for my hair. It has really bounced back hope it doesn't start again. Hope yours will begin to level out. Good luck.

Try to relax about it. No one is going to notice your hair when you are getting so slim and sexy!

I am a year out now and no more hair loss!

I really noticed my hair coming out in clumps a few weeks ago.  i think it started in earnest at around 4.5 months.  UGH!

I use Diva Curl products and my hair stylist cut my hair much shorter and has me on a shampoo with no chemicals.

My hair is getting so thin that I'm dreading the next few months.  I guess it's time to up the protein and start taking all the Biotin I bought.

Let's keep comparing notes.

I thought I got off lucky, but mine started at 6 mo! And I have thin hair to start with, but I am trying not to stress out. I use a lot of protein type products on my hair, they say it's helping....not so sure!
I am not far from a year out so I hope they are right and quits soon........good luck!
