Tired.....

Hi Jody!

Sleep sleep sleep, then get up and get to Zumba class.  For me, I think that I sleep better and feel better during the day when I exercise.  I can't freakin believe I'm saying this because I'm the one that always laid on the couch until the urge to exercise passed naturally.  Maybe getting out into some fresh air would help, along with a nice long nap.

I ordered some of the new Iron chews from Bariatric Advantage and they arrived yesterday.  I had been severely lax on taking iron and it's not recommended by my surgeon so I didn't feel bad about it.  But Gina was in my ear quietly whispering, iron, iron, iron.  So I ordered them along with my calcium.   YUM, now I have iron that I'm happy to take!

I hope you feel less tired today.

You order the iron chews directly from BA?  That sounds very interesting to me....

I'm going to take a batch of my Proefferin now.. no calcium, eggs, etc within 2 hours... no promises no lattes within the next 2 hours though....

Usual suspects:
1) low B-12
2) low protein
3) low iron
4) low exercise
5) not enough sleep
6) depression
7) not enough sex

Dang! That number 7!

I've had problems with low iron for over 30 years until last year.  My body just would not absorb the iron I took in pill form so I consulted a hematologist and he recommended iron infusions.  I have had 2, which was what it took to get my iron levels to within normal limits and I have maintained that for 1 year.   Symptoms I know were from low iron, oddly enough, the main one was a serious craving for crushed ice!!  I have also known other folks who had the same craving and their iron was seriously low.  Also, one I didn't know, but proved to be true was hand cramping at night.  I thought it might be carpal tunnel based on my job but when my iron leveled out, that went away, too.

One reason I am happy to be getting sleeved versus RNY is there is less chance of the iron malabsorption of iron.

Have a great weekend!

IF I drink alcohol you say... Um..... , I'm the resident LW board lush.....

Now - past experience (and yes, since I've had WLS too) is if I drink, I can get to sleep but not STAY asleep.  Not seeming to have that problem lately.

But - yes, like many have said, my schedule has been messed up and I'm not getting enough sex... .  Still trying to figure out how to remedy that...

So, I'm going to UP my iron (hope I do better with it than the exercise I vowed to do)... and hopefully get back on a regular sleeping schedule.  Next week too I may have the screwy hours... UGH!!
