Oh drats!  I didn't read this before your 2 year anniversary post.

That darn Dr.  Did he ever end up calling?  I hate that this is happening to you.  I'll have to check and see if he's still in my email list at almost 6 months out.

*sigh*  I wish we could control everything.

no-he never called.  i'll track him down.  i must admit he has fallen slightly from his very elevated pedestal position.

Does your program have a Bariatric Internist? At Fremont, people start seeing a Bariatric Internist at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. Thereafter, the visits are yearly. All the visits are group visits, but you can meet individually with the physician and dietitician. I will see my surgeon for pre-op, 2 week post-op, and at 6 weeks post-op.

i dont know if we have a bariatric internist or not ??  if we do..i'm not aware of it or i call them something else.  my surgeon is in richmond and i am in santa rosa which has a bariatric support system and pre surgery staff.  the coordinating between the two has been sketchy from the get.  they dont agree on dietary guidelines and dont communicate with each other very well-at least as far as im concerned.

after the 2 week postop check up, i found followup was up to me to scedule.

i wish santa rosa had it's own bariatric surgery-there's certainly plenty of people and it is a big facility.  but they funnel everyone here to san francisco now-i dont think even richmond sees santa rosa patients anymore-another reason for the communication breakdown i think.

i know folks in my presurgery group, that had their surgery at richmond, have trouble connecting w/their docs.  and if there is an emergency-we have to ambulance it to richmond;  santa rosa er doesnt deal with bariatric emergencies.
