Average Weight Loss for RNY Lightweights
I have a total of 115 to lose (my goal, my surgeon does not give goals)
DOS 4/16 - 232.5
1 wk out - 221.4 -11.1
2 wks out - 215.8 -5.6
1 m - 5/16- 207.9 -7.9 (total 24.6 for the month)
2 m - 6/16- 195.6 -12.3
3m - 7/16- 185.6 -10 (total loss at 3 months is 46.9 lbs)
I drive myself nuts drolling over other peoples weight loss but I also constantly remind myself how far I have come - it is a frustrating thing, if you constantly compare to others, but I do it anyway!!

i'm about 7 weeks out and holding at about 188.5 which is 16.5 pounds loss, averaging 2.35 lbs/week, which is below the rate i was advised to expect (3-5 lbs). Slower than almost anyone i've seen :P which is hard to take but, i probably have had a better appetite since day 1, and my pouch seems to be "old ironsides" compared to other new preops. My doctor and NP seem satisfied although I am not. THey keep telling me to wait and see, so i'm waiting and seeing and trying to stay on top of the stuff i know helps - exercise and fluids. i WISH i could get more fluids in me. i meet the minimum 64oz or just under, i sometimes stay up late just to drink more, something that is not going to work for me once i start working again. Fluids are the hardest part of this whole deal for me.
it's also possible that i'll see a big drop any day now and come back here crowing because i met one of my progress goals (lose 20 lbs).

RNY 6/16/09 - Last weighed 10/27/2011 weighed 151 lost 52 pounds 66% toward personal goal of 125, six pounds from unofficial unpretentious goal of 145lbs......basically very happy. boo-rah, RNY!
Since December 08 - I have lost a total of 61.5 lbs.
20lb of that weight loss was before I saw Dr. about the surgery.
I had gotten motivated by a friend who was working very hard dieting & exercising.
I made changes- wasn't aware I was loosing weight till I saw the cardiologist & he told me that I had lost 15 lbs since i saw him in Dec. Still i was a month away from appt. at Bariatric Doc's.
Then I lost my 27 pre-op lbs.
Actually, more it was 33.5 lbs before surgery.
managed to weigh 234.5 morning of surgery....
Came home and was SHOCKED the next morning because I HAD GAINED SO MUCH WATER WEIGHT IN HOSPITAL! it was over 15lbs! YIKES!
It took me my first week to get back down to my pre-op weight!
Today- 2 weeks out I am down another 8lbs.
so- even though some may lose more in first month -
I am happy for my OVERALL success.
If I can lose another 8 lbs by the time I'm 4 weeks out- THAT's great too! Just trying to see the BIG PICTURE with a smaller me in it!

I am almost 3 weeks out........I keep in mind that everyone has a different post op diet also...some can eat soft foods 1week out and then there are people like me who don't start pureed foods until week 4 and move onto solids at week 5. So that said my weightloss may be more than some others simply beacause the only calories I intake are from what ever protien drink I'm drinking that day.
