WELCOME to the LW Board!!!!!

We might not lose as fast because we are LW'S but most of us make goal within a year.  Also, practically every pound we lose is noticeable and our sizes drop like crazy.  I had to start new clothes shopping almost from day one.

at  2 months -  41 lost
at  4 months -  57 lost
at  8 months -  75 lost and at goal
at  9.5 months - 81 lost (6 under goal)

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

This is what I have lost and when

1st week -7
2 nd week -4 total 11lbs
3 rd week - 2 total 13lbs
I month      -2 total 15lbs
2nd month -9 total 24 lbs lost

As of the 2nd of August I have lost a total of 25 lbs since surgery.  I lost 40 lbs pre-op so my total loss since starting the weight loss process is 65 lbs

What is really cool for me is I have gone from a tight 22 pants to a 14 and sometime 12, I am thrilled I made the decision for RNY

40 lbs lost pre-op

Babee, like you I love to see the average weight loss of people, sometimes to torture myself, others to verify that I'm doing just all right. I weigh in once a week, and I have been logging these numbers on both my weight tracker on OH and a huge spreadsheet where I track all sorts of things.

Here it goes:

1 wk= 14.7 lbs
2 wks= 2.6 lbs (total loss - 17.3 lbs)
1 months= total loss 22.1 lbs
2 months = monthly loss-14.8 lbs (total loss - 36.9lbs)
3mos = monthly loss-11 lbs (total loss - 47.9 lbs)
4 mos = monthly loss-7.6 lbs (total loss -55.5 lbs)
5 months = monthly loss- 10 lbs (total loss - 65.5 lbs)
6 mos = monthly loss- 6.4 lbs (total loss - 71.9 lbs)
7 months = monthly loss - 3.4 lbs (total loss - 75.3 lbs)

If you could see my weekly weigh ins, you'd see that my losses are quite uneven. Some weeks I loose ZERO or half/pound, just to be followed by a week of great losses of 4 lbs.

I had to go back and look.  I started at 217 on surgery day.

At 1 week - down 7 lbs.
At 2 weeks - down 9 lbs.
At 1 month - down 17 lbs.
At 2 months - down 28 lbs.

I have consistantly lost about 2 lbs a week, with a few weeks here and there where I lost closer to 5.  At 10 weeks out I have lost 30 lbs - so an average of 3 lbs per week.

I am very satisfied with that number.

9#  week 1
1# week 2
averaged 2# week through month 4
Month 5 average 1.5# week

Though my loss was only 2# week, I didn't have any stalls---so far anyway.

Hope this helps.

Thank you to everyone *****sponded. I think I had my weight loss sights set too high. Thanks for bringing me back to reality.

My main reason is for resolution of diabetes, hypertension and relief with arthritis. That is what I should be the most concerned about, not how much I will weigh after any particular time.

I'm a goal oriented person but I think my goals should be focused the 10 keys to success provided by my WLS program:
1. Drink my water
2. Eat my protein
3. Take my vitamins
4. No snacking
5. Exercise
6. Attend support group
7. Keep my followup appts
8. Avoid liquid calories
9. Keep my food journal
10. Do not eat and drink together

AND? DO NOT DRINK 30 - 45 Minutes before and after yours meals! Do not even have a drink near you even in restaurants! I am firm in saying no even to water!

You will do great! I can tell already! All the best to you. Alizka

1st goal to be under 200. Done!  2nd goal to be just obese. Third goal is to be under 170 by Thanksgiving 2009. I Pray I can make it. I know the Lord will help me through this.

I'll be honest, I haven't tracked my weight over time. I can only tell you that I am down a total of 67 lbs, 9 pre-op and 58 post-op. I'll be 4 months on Friday.
