I am about 2 weeks out and 14lbs down. I a begining to feel like maybe when you are 40+ .you loose this weight slower  post op.......................................I  am 43 years od and I read all day howe people out 2 weeks are 25-30 lbs down.....................

Does slow and steady really win the race?

Hey Cat I asked my Sister friend, she doesn't use this site and she lost 15lbs her 1st 2 weeks, she was 46 when she had her RNY.  Keep your head up Sis.  She said her doctor said age was a factor in the amount of weight loss and the speed of her lost.  She also said that she didn't work out so that also had her slower than some others.

Yes Yes Yes!  Slow and steady is the very best!  It took me almost two years to lose 90 pounds.  I had the lapband surgery so I knew it would be slower anyway.  I lost a steady one pound a week.  I have no sagging skin and no cellulite.  Although I was frustrated seeing everyone else lose so much quicker than me, I have to look back on it now and be grateful that I lost the way I did.  The important thing to focus on is that it IS coming off...no matter how long it takes.  If it takes longer, your body doesn't go into shock, you don't lose your hair and your muscles have time to catch up to where they need to be.  No worries!  It is working!  Weigh to go!

The way I understand it some of our bodies go straight into shock and shut down but .............. it will still happen.  Hang in there girl!!

Look at the before and after pictures to see where you're going.  They really inspire me!
