Hello, I'm 41 and looking forward to starting over and being a new me! I was excited to find this board tonight. It's nice to be around people my age. I was always the youngest growing up and now suddenly I find myself being one of the oldest. My husband and I are being banded the same day...Jan 14th. We do pre-op on the 10th. Currently were on a protein shake in the am then, low fat, low carb, low sugar diet for lunch and dinner. I look forward to getting to know ya'll :D Shelice

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome and Congratulations on your date.  I have been trying since 2006, was denied after getting my entire test workup done.  I was told I needed to do a 6 month program that was more current.  Well I did...and I have since changed my mind and know want to be banded.  My Dr. sent in all my paperwork again and I received my letter of approval on Saturday.  I was so happy and relieved because I wasn't sure if I would get turned down again.  I was given a date of 2/01/2008.  I haven't received a call yet from my doctor to verify this date but I'm just so excited that I will get to have this done and look forward to becoming a loser!  I had hoped to be fit by 40 but it hasn't happened just the way I had planned.  I will be 40 in March and at least I will have a good start.

Please keep me posted to your progress.

Welcome Shelice,

I am glad you found us.  I am also a prior baby and it seems strange now when I look around and there are younger people that are also adults LOL.  You and your husband on the same day that sounds like an adventure.  At least you will be able to support each other.  I hope it will be a bonding experience for you. LOL.

Keep us informed on how things are going for you.

Peggy

I appreciate the welcome.  It's nice we're all at the early stage of our journey. It's always nice to have buddies on a journey. I'll post again when I get home with my new friend...I'm trying to come up with a name for it...nothing yet ;) S

Hello all.  I am 45 (UGH!!!) however, 6 months out from surgery I feel better than when I was 30.  Can't wait for a decent snow.  Want to try snowboarding with my neices and cross country skiing again.  Got the old skis out and ready to use, just need some decent snow.  Can't wait for summer either - want to try roller blading.   Good luck to you all -
