So this is where the 40 and FINE are?  I just wanted to say Hi, and check out some of your post as I'm hoping to get news soon that will allow me to be banded.  In 2006 I was trying for RNY and my insurance shot me down. They told me I needed to do a more recent WL program, so I did and I'm waiting to hear from them now.  I wonder what they will come up with this time.  I have a family member who has had the Gastric Bypass and she looks wonderful,  and she is 45.  I keep hearing I will not lose as much weight being banded but I figured I'll prove them wrong because I have had plenty of time to do my research and believe that if I use it properly I can reach a good weightloss.

Welcome to the group.  I cant help you much with the lap band information (I am having rny) but I am sure that if you want to loose the weight once you get started you can achieve your goal with which ever method works best for you.

Good Luck

Thanks for the encouragement!  I think I should be able to get the weight off with the band.  I know it's something that I will have to learn to work with and It will work for me.  I wanted to do the RNY but was concerned with the recovery time and missing too much work. Thanks again for replying.
